A few snapshots from a very special week in Vanuatu ☀️🏝️🇻🇺

Artistic Director, Nick Power, recently returned from Port Vila, Vanuatu after a week of creative development on Triangular Rhythms – a hip hop project bringing together artists from Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Australia. ▵

Some highlights from the trip:

☀️ Visiting the community of local artist and project collaborator, JP.
☀️ Creating a shared physical language that transcended verbal language barriers.
☀️ Using hip hop as common ground to exchange cultural dance, movement and ritual.
☀️ Hearing "Force Majeure" pronounced in French by the New Caledonian crew. It just hits different.

A huge thank you to Wan Smolbag for hosting us, Performing Lines, and all the incredible artists and collaborators from Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Australia.

We're building something pretty special together. Stay tuned.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.

This project has been supported by the Australian Government through the Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program.
