Festival Commons is back – and EOIs are now open!

We're looking for the next wave of IBPoC festival-makers, curators and cultural organisers from Greater Sydney and the Asia Pacific.

This is for the people shaping culture in artist-led spaces, skate parks, community kitchens, drag houses, garage parties, club nights, Discords, TikToks and everywhere else culture is being made.

Participants take part in a 10-day lab during Sydney Festival 2027, enjoying behind-the-scenes access, peer exchange, mentorship, tickets and a growing network of creative thinkers.

Each participant receives an honorarium – with travel, accommodation and per diems covered for international participants.

We love to see how Festival artworks evolve after January.

Held by Yuwaalaraay artist Lucy Simpson currently has a beautiful home on Dharug Country at Rouse Hill Estate.

These striking sculptures accent and envelope the landscape which surrounds them to create peaceful, welcoming spaces that change with the light, inviting you to observe and embrace Country.

Spend some time watching and wandering through these beauties for NAIDOC this week.
