Theatre21

Theatre21 Theatre21 is passionate about taking small works and making them big.

We believe that live performance is an antidote to the increasing physical disconnect between us and the media we consume, and we want to help make sure that vital and original theatre remains a strong part of our cultural life. To this end, we provide new theatre and performance art with long term support, promotion, and development, because we believe 'small-scale' does not have to describe a project's reach.

Dear Friends:

Thank you for all for so enthusiastically supporting Kaleidoscope in 2015. We're delighted to announce that the show has been picked up by one of Sydney's most up and coming independent companies, Montague Basement, for their 2016 season!

You can stay tuned here for updates on the show, but we thoroughly recommend heading over and liking Montague Basement's page to really keep your finger on the pulse of Kaleidoscope's Mardi Gras season.

We make theatre.

Tickets to the first season of Kaleidoscope at M2 Gallery are selling fast, and we're finally ready to unveil the amazing project that Nadia Bracegirdle has been working on for us.

Horse_ebooks manages to turn out some absolute gems. Sometimes they're gems that can be read as oblique but poignant references to experiences of gender dysphoria, so Nadia thought 'Why not embroider them?'

Here are Charlie O'Grady and Harry Winsome modelling two of the results in a photo by Alex Smiles.

Charlie was commissioned to write a piece about theatre and gender and representation for Honi Soit. He talked a lot about Kaleidoscope, and our preview at Desire Books.

Read it here if you want to know more about the show, then book tickets with the 'Book Now' button above! We open in just over a week so there's no time to waste.

At 7:30pm on the 24th of July, I am looking down upon what ought to be my finest moment as an artist. We lugged several bags of props and a deconstructed clothes rack from campus to a Circular Quay...

Charlie's been busy getting published by the awesome Archer Magazine - a publication you definitely want to take a look at.
