Kool & The Gang - the most sampled band in history - were invited to celebrate 250 years of the USA ahead of their tour of Australia this summer ☀️

Across six decades, the funk and soul icons have given us some of the most enduring dancefloor anthems of all time. From ‘Celebration’ and ‘Get Down On It’ to ‘Jungle Boogie’ and ‘Ladies’ Night’, this is a catalogue that needs very little introduction.

KiNK’s rise has been marked by pure, unadulterated talent. Blurring the lines between artist, engineer and crowd conductor, his ability to bend raw sounds into new sonic creations in real time brings an energy that’s exhilarating and spontaneous.

His sets are unscripted, highly kinetic and deliciously unpredictable, frequently handing control over to the crowd, inviting them to shape the groove live. Born out of America’s Motor City, brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden grew up absorbing the genre-bending sounds of legendary radio DJs like Electrifying Mojo blending Motown soul, machine funk, and European synth-work into something completely new.

Under the moniker Octave One, they pushed Detroit techno into deeper, more emotional territory. Debuting with “I Believe” on Transmat in 1989 before dropping global anthems like “Blackwater” through their own 430 West Records, they built a legacy on fusing raw hardware with genuine human emotion.

At the core of their legendary live shows is “The Mothership”. No pre-recording, no shortcuts. Just pure improvisation, quasi-telepathic connection and real-time dialogue between man and machine.
