I’m painting one floral each day for 100 days. It’s my way of focusing on joy, curiosity, and creative flow.

So far, I’m learning that some pieces may not work. Some I will fall in love with. And some may not ever be seen by others. And that OK.

Some may sell, others won’t. But the main thing is that it’s pleasurable. Making art is meant to be fun.

Feeling very pink today 😍 I’m trying this thing where I just paint what I want in one single session.

No going back to fix, fiddle, or edit. I might go over with a few scribbles with oil pastel (which is something I’ve really loved doing recently), but then that’s it.

On a personal note, my partner and I are celebrating our anniversary. We have been together for so long we almost forgot. 13 years? 14 years?

Anyway. He is my rock. I love how at ease my nervous system is around him. I can truly be myself and he’s never judged me whenever I went through crazy phases.

I still remember when I was learning taxidermy and the freezer was starting to fill with dead animals. He probably didn’t like it at all, but he always supported my hobbies 😅

Testing out new oil pastels! I’m really loving the creamy textures with this one.

I’m on a mission to paint 100 florals in 100 days!

But I’m allowing periods of rest on those days when I just feel flat.

I might take a break tomorrow. Working from home and managing tradies onsite this week has been disruptive and tiring.

The bathroom renovation is so close to being complete. Hopefully I can take a long bath this weekend 🙏
