City Recital Hall hosts a rich program of concerts and events for the music lovers of Sydney covering a broad range of genres from the contemporary to the classical. In 2022, Robert Forster brought an incredible solo show to the Hall in support of his LP, Inferno.

Now he returns this September, with his Swedish Band and the album "Strawberries".

The three-piece Swedish band is the cream of the Stockholm pop scene: Peter Moren on guitar is the ‘Peter’ of Peter Bjorn and John. Jonas Thurell on bass and Magnus Olsen on drums are stars.

Their musicianship and chemistry with Forster is something to behold, catch it live at City Recital Hall.

Michael “CAVS” Cavanagh of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard has created an entirely new, percussion-driven score for Christopher Nolan’s cult-classic, Memento.

This Saturday, CAVS performs live, in real time, alongside the film with Hear My Eyes🥁

As The AU Review puts it, this is a performance where “You can’t really hide when you’re on the drums.” CAVS describes his approach as instinctive: “what you see on the screen and then what you hear coming from the drums is literally just what I feel.”

The Bad Plus have been redefining what a jazz trio can be for more than two decades 🎷 🎶

Fearless, inventive and impossible to pigeonhole, their 2003 album "These Are The Vistas" was named among NPR Music’s most important records of the 2010s, cementing their place in the story of modern jazz.
