In 2020 I started playing games online because I was in a tough spot, a place of isolation, loneliness and a profound sense of disconnect. I was lucky enough (truly, it was luck) to build a following, and an entire community of people who were there almost every day, who cried and laughed alongside me. My greatest achievement for that entire streaming career, was that I was able to bring people together, and we were able to build lifelong, beautiful, authentic friendships. This is where Casey comes in, Wombat, Wombae, a human who was able to make everyone in that space feel seen and loved and validated. He never missed a stream. Because for him, and for me, we both knew it wasn’t just a bunch of people behind screens talking, it was a profound connection of love, one that carried us through years of feeling othered, too gay, too weird, too this or that. Wombat, Casey, is the nicest person I have ever known, and I can confidently say that knowing him made me a significantly better person. I will miss you for the rest of my life, and I am so grateful to know you.
