A huge mihi to the 3 incredible kapa who will proudly represent us at Matatini ki Hopuhopu 2027!

Te Raranga Whanui are gleaming of absolute pride for you all.

To every performer who took to the stage, ka nui te mihi! How beautiful it is to understand and be part of the mammoth task of allowing our unique rohe to send 3 deserving teams home.

Although we didn’t advance to the big dance this round, we are humbled to always be reminded of the bigger picture - through our babies singing louder than we do, our natural embodiment of whanautanga, the way crowds are drawn and our ever growing kete of knowledge overflowing. Our imperfections, achievements, highs, lows, blood, sweat and mental challenges continue to shape us, and we are ever so proud of seeing them out to the death.

To our unwavering supporters, thank you. To our dedicated team - let’s have a hui.. cos being the 7th most brilliant team in Australia is a pretty cool badge 🙌🏽

After a sweaty day in the sun on Saturday, we have a few acknowledgments to make.

To the organisers of a beautiful day, , we’d like to thank you for the invite and providing a great day for Sydney to come together to celebrate and commemorate the 1840 signing of Te Tiriri o Waitangi.

To our mates in the lines, - we thank you for your love and support. Standing with you all has empowered our hearts as we march on to the Australian Regional Competitions on the Gold Coast in March on behalf of NSW.

To everyone that generously gave our kapa some amazing koha as the kete was being handed around the grounds!! Our hearts are full of gratitude. Thank you uncle for putting out that karanga. We are deeply appreciative as that koha will help us immensely. We saw every face that placed koha, and we promise to hit the stage as best we can for you all.

To wrap it up, as we journey ahead for the next 8 weeks toward the Gold Coast, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who have supported us with koha, karakia and aroha. The order of performance draw has been done and we’re second to take the stage on Saturday, 28th March. We’re excited, overjoyed and grateful for all the blessings.

Stay tuned for further updates and live stream links.
