Country was the classroom when we spent time on Southern Yuin Country, running a hands-on digital storytelling workshop with the . 🌱

The workshop brought together staff, local community members and high school students to brainstorm stories and learn practical filmmaking and audio skills.

It was a joy to watch the young people in the room find their voice and their confidence, with the guidance of the Living Knowledge Network team and local Indigenous Practitioners. We were super-inspired and excited by the story ideas developed on the day, which included films about caring for Country, interviewing Elders and ‘A Day in the Life of a Ranger.

Thank you to the Living Knowledge Network for the partnership and trust. We're already looking forward to seeing what these storytellers do next! 😍

📣 Pathways to Purpose is back for 2026, and applications are now open.

This is a free mentoring and career development program for emerging filmmakers, content creators, and experienced storytellers ready to step into impact-driven work 🌱.

Over 11 weeks, you'll train with industry mentors, work with purpose-driven organisations across Sydney, and produce a short impact film from start to finish.

This Friday, Digital Storytellers is coming to Brisbane and we couldn't be more excited about who's leading the room.

Meet Julia 🙂

Julia Lörsch started her career where so many Australian storytellers do - on the set of Neighbours. From there she moved into documentary, working with SBS and directing over 50 impact shorts as co-head of production at Digital Storytellers.

But she didn't stop there.

In 2023, her film The Oyster Gardner premiered at the Sydney Film Festival and aired on ABC. Last year, The Art Side of the Moon won People's Choice at the Toronto Alternative Film Festival.
And in 2026, both films will be launched to the moon (😱) - part of a permanent NASA cultural archive, carrying human stories into the universe.

This Friday, she's bringing all of that into a room to help you find and shape the story only you can tell.
