A strong troupe says everything about a school.

In group work, technique is only the beginning. The stage reveals discipline, musicality, spacing, stamina, respect for style and the ability to move with purpose as part of something larger.

Sydney Eisteddfod’s Any Age Dance Group sections give studios the opportunity to show the depth of their training across genres, and to bring their students together for a performance that reflects the work happening in the studio every week.

Final call for Dance Groups - there are still spaces available in the following sections:

• World Folk Dance
• Musical Theatre
• Hip Hop
• Contemporary Small Troupe
• Classical Ballet & Demi-Character
• Contemporary
• Jazz

These events will take place at The Concourse, Chatswood on Saturday 27 June - tickets to all Dance Group Days now available via our website.

Entries must close Monday.

What an extraordinary evening of choral music!

The 2026 Sydney Eisteddfod Choral Championships brought together school, youth and community choirs for a celebration of voice, artistry, discipline and shared joy.

From the youngest choristers to our open-age community ensembles, the evening was a wonderful reminder of the energy, care and connection that choral singing creates.

Congratulations to every choir who took to the stage, and thank you to the conductors, accompanists, teachers, families and supporters who helped make the event so special.

Congratulations to our 2026 winners:

🎼🎤🎶. Tomorrow, the Sydney Eisteddfod Choral Championships take the stage, and this is your final invitation to be in the room🎼🎤🎶.

Choral singing has been part of the Sydney Eisteddfod story for generations. In 1941, Sydney Eisteddfodd opened the festival with school choirs leading the way, with 31 'juvenile' groups and more than 1000 choristers taking part. By the final night, more than 3000 people had filled Sydney Town Hall for choir groups- which became the very first Choral Championships - 80 years ago this year. That same spirit continues tomorrow, as school, youth and community choirs come together to sing, listen, support each other and share the joy of live performance.

This is a wonderful opportunity to support young singers, dedicated music teachers, conductors, accompanists, schools and community choirs, and to experience the energy of voices coming together in one of Sydney Eisteddfod’s great championship events.

Come along. Bring your family. Support your school. Cheer for the choirs. Be part of a tradition that has been bringing performers and audiences together for 80 years.

Tickets are available online now, and will also be available at the door.

🩰 For dancers ready for the next stage 🩰

Entries are open for the Sydney Eisteddfod Junior and Senior Ballet Scholarships, one of Australia’s most prestigious opportunities for young dancers.

EOFY Appeal - Help Sydney Eisteddfod provide the stage for emerging artists!

In 2033, Sydney Eisteddfod will turn one hundred.

It is a milestone we are already moving toward with purpose, as more than a celebration - a commitment to the next generation of Australian performers who will benefit from this festival as generations before them have.

The Sydney Eisteddfod Centenary Fund supports both the programs of today and the vision for our centenary year. As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on the generosity of our community to sustain and grow what we do. Every contribution is an investment in Australian performing arts, and in the young artists who will carry it forward.

All donations of $2 and over are fully tax deductible.

📣 Dance Group days are almost here and we want to see you on the stage! 📣

Sydney Eisteddfod's Dance Group events take over The Concourse, Chatswood across three big days in June, with categories spanning Baby Dance through to Secondary School groups, and everything in between — Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Classical Ballet, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and more.

These are some of the most electric days on the Sydney Eisteddfod calendar. The Concert Hall fills with supporters, the energy is extraordinary, and every year we are treated to choreography that genuinely takes your breath away. The camaraderie between schools is always a reminder of just how vibrant, generous, and connected our dance community truly is.

There is something that happens when a group performs together that a solo performance simply cannot replicate. The synchronicity. The shared energy. The moment a team that has trained together all year finally gets to show the world what they have built. And every group receives written feedback from our industry professional adjudicators, insight that lifts the whole studio, not just the individual.

Entries close 7 June. Don't let the moment pass.

Take your place on the stage. 💃🕺

This week is National Volunteer Week — and there is no better time to say what we don't say often enough.

Sydney Eisteddfod is built on the generosity of volunteers. Since 1933, 93 years of extraordinary people giving their time, their warmth, and their energy to make this festival what it is. Without them, there is no Sydney Eisteddfod. It is as simple as that.

They are the people who register nervous competitors at the door and make them feel welcome. Who compere events with warmth and wit. Who stand side-stage with a reassuring smile for a young performer about to walk out in front of an adjudicator for the very first time. Who stay until the last family has left, the last chair is stacked, and the lights are off.

For generations of Australian performers, those volunteers are part of the memory. Not just the stage, not just the result, but the person who was kind to them on one of the most important days of their young lives.

To every Sydney Eisteddfod volunteer, past and present, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You are the soul of this festival. 🧡

📢 You know the student. The one who lights up when they speak. The one who holds the room without trying.

And you know the other one too. The one quietly working, building their confidence one rehearsal at a time, not quite ready to believe in themselves yet. This could be the perfect platform to develop their skills for school speeches, drama exams, or any kind of public speaking.

Sydney Eisteddfod's Speech and Drama program — spanning Prepared Speech, Verse Speaking, Prose Speaking, News Reading, Impromptu Speech, Monologue, Group Scenes and more — was made for both of them. Every candidate receives written feedback from our industry professional adjudicators, making this as much a development experience as it is a performance opportunity.

Entries are open across events running from May through August. Find their event and get them on stage. 👇
