The master of horror music performed iconic tracks with his band on Halloween Night at The Belasco theatre Los Angeles, it was live streamed (Nov 1st for us on the other side of the world) and it was absolute PERFECTION.
John was joined by his son Cody Carpenter who has followed in his father's legendary footsteps a proven a weapon on synth and keys himself. John's godson (son of The Kinks guitarist Dave Davies) SLAMMED on lead guitar. Of course supported by usual suspects touring musicians (legends in their own right) John Konesky (Tenacious D) on guitar, John Spiker on bass (multiple-GRAMMY Award-winning producer, engineer, mixer, and multi-instrumentalist, working with acts as , , Tenacious D, Firestarter) and Scott Seiver on drums (Tenacious D) having toured live with John since 2016.
A solid setlist showcasing an array of iconic film scores and Lost Themes series tracks including pieces flawlessly transitioning from Halloween, Escape From New York, Assault on Precinct 13, Big trouble in Little China, The Fog, The Thing, Christine, They Live and Prince Of Darkness. To my delight, they played personal favourites "Vortex", and "Distant Dream", as well as tracks "Last Rites", and "Alive After Death" were played (I'm pretty sure these were their live debuts).
John also announced the exciting news of their new album "Lost themes V: Cathedral" dropping next year, and they played one of the new unreleased tracks
"Lord of the Underground". This was some beefy synth, electric guitar adding sizzling layers and heavier than usual, (as in headbanging worthy 10/10 would have started a mosh pit if in person). Can't wait for the new Lost Themes V album drop. THANK YOU to all involved this was one special Halloween event indeed! ๐ did
