Here’s a happy story in these crazy times. This guy (“Surfin Spider” - on a roll), has been hanging spring around in the walkway of the POW Hospital since we went into lock down. Here is the lovely message I got from the lady who purchased him (I’m hoping she doesn’t mind as I can’t contact her directly).
“Anyway I have my little spider hung up on my wall now and he’s such a handsome little man. Please send my thanks and appreciation to the artist. This spider actually brought me a lot of comfort during my radiation treatment last June. I would walk down that depressing, sad corridor towards High St from Barker St every morning for 4.5 weeks. But whenever I walked past this little guy he would draw me in and put a big smile on my face. It was like he was saying “Hey lady, you’re going to be fine”. I promised him that when it was all over I would come back for him. Three months on he was still there waiting for me and now he’s mine 😊”
This IS what makes me the happiest about making art and I’m so happy he’s gone to the greatest home ever and I wish this lovely lady all the best in the world 💕

I am exhibiting at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick......hung them a few weeks ago and then covid hit again! So have held of promoting my artworks but what the hey - they are just hanging around (literally) so if you happen to be in POWH check them out in the High Street Corridor. They are there till the 16th (no doubt covid dependent) and they are also a fundraiser for the hospital (30% of each sale).

Just a little late posting this! My pop rivet (waste) rabbit sculpture "Every Time a Little Piece" at the TAFE NSW Art Prize 2019. He's now travelling with TAFE for the next year.
