We wanted this one to go out to everyone on the ground at our three hospital projects.

Our people are currently working across Ryde, Cessnock and Shellharbour, three sites in three different regions, alongside the builders and trades who are bringing these hospitals to life. Walls, ceilings, structural steel, protective coatings. Every part of the job is held to a healthcare standard.

A genuine thank you to AW Edwards, Hansen Yuncken and BESIX Watpac for trusting us with this work, and to all the site teams who make it run smoothly. To our own crew, thank you for showing up, staying flexible when plans change, and keeping the quality where it needs to be.

Late 2027 is still a while away. We will see it through together.

Project awarded📍Ryde Hospital Redevelopment

Painting By Modern has commenced works on-site at the Ryde Hospital Redevelopment, appointed by AW Edwards. This development will modernise local healthcare infrastructure and emergency services for the Ryde community.

Scope in brief:
◼︎ Full internal architectural painting across walls, ceilings, and doorsets
◼︎ Specialist concrete balcony soffit remediation and protective coatings
◼︎ Exterior blockwork and planter box finishing systems
◼︎ Complete basement car park line marking and bay delineation

Project Update📍 Students Accommodation, QLD

Painting By Modern was engaged by head contractor Hiview Design & Construction Pty Ltd to deliver the comprehensive painting and protective coatings package for the new Students Accommodation at Morningside.

Scope in brief:
◼︎ Full architectural painting package across all plasterboard walls and ceilings
◼︎ Detailed surface preparation and high-quality coatings for internal doorsets and timber skirtings
◼︎ Specialist grinding, patching, and protective coating systems applied to balcony soffits
◼︎ Complete external architectural coating system covering perimeter blockwork and planter boxes
◼︎ Full car park line marking package, including accessible bays, directional arrows, and designated bicycle zones

Delivering a multi-scope finishes package across student living zones, structural concrete, and basement levels requires precise staging and structured site coordination. We highly value the proactive management and ongoing collaboration from the Hiview Design & Construction team as the build progresses.

Works are continuing smoothly across the site.

Project awarded📍Australian War Memorial, ACT

Painting By Modern has been engaged by Eastern Property Services to deliver a detailed internal painting package across key gallery and facility spaces.

The works encompass several dedicated areas, including the Central Gallery, Hall of Valour, Humanitarian Galleries, and the Staff Amenities & Education Area.

Scope in brief:
◼︎ Internal wall, ceiling, bulkhead, and access panel painting
◼︎Skirting, picture rail, and portal frame architectural finishes
◼︎Internal single and double door leaf and frame coatings
◼︎ Exposed soffit painting

Delivering finishes within high-specification gallery and public spaces requires meticulous preparation and sharp ex*****on. We look forward to working alongside the team at Eastern Property Services to deliver this package.

Project Completion | The Sunny, QLD

Painting By Modern was engaged by head contractor JMAC to deliver the comprehensive internal and external painting and specialised finishes package for the refurbishment of The Sunny in Queensland. The multi-stage project spanned upgraded commercial office spaces, high-traffic hospitality and dining areas, and new family community zones.

Scope in brief:
◼︎ Comprehensive internal and external painting across multi-stage commercial refurbishments
◼︎ High-durability wall, ceiling, and joinery coatings for office, hospitality, and amenities spaces
◼︎ Specialised surface applications including epoxy flooring, rendering, skim coating, and feature stains
◼︎ Flexible, staged delivery including nightworks capability, line marking, and access coordination

Thanks to the team at JMAC for the opportunity and the collaboration throughout delivery. Balancing detailed architectural finishes, custom timber stains, and night-shift ex*****on across an active multi-use precinct takes disciplined site management and clear communication between trades.

With handover complete, the transformed commercial and hospitality spaces are officially open and welcoming visitors.

Project Feature | Hope Island

Painting By Modern was engaged by Creation Homes to deliver the full interior and exterior painting package for their Hope Island residential community in Queensland.

Scope in brief:
• Full interior and exterior painting
• Surface preparation and high-durability coating applications
• Ceiling, wall, and skirting finishes
• Door, frame, and architectural element painting
• High-access machinery and EWP operations

Delivering multi-building packages across active releases requires disciplined sequencing and clear site communication. Working alongside Creation Homes, our team coordinated works in distinct phases to support operational continuity and maintain steady progress.

With handover complete, the development stands as a clean showcase of durable, high-quality finishes built for the long term.

BEFORE OPENING DAY

On the Sydney Coliseum Theatre project in Rooty Hill, Ricky and the team were approaching the final stages of the job.

But close to completion, an issue emerged with the finish on some doors and components.
The team had to reassess the situation, prepare the surfaces again and plan the repainting all while keeping the project moving towards its deadline.

For Ricky, it came down to staying calm, communicating clearly and working through the problem with the team.

The issue was resolved, the work moved forward, and everything was completed before opening day.

Because precision isn’t only about getting things right the first time.�It’s also about how you respond when things don’t go to plan.
