I’m so excited to be a part of two brand new shows created especially for this years Adelaide Cabaret Festival! On opening weekend I’ll be back on stage with some of the best as we revisit our time on Jesus Christ Superstar…you will hear all of your favourite songs from the show, as well as lots of hilarious stories and secrets from on and off stage - I can’t tell you how much fun it’s going to be reuniting with this motley crew I’m lucky enough to call friends - Michael Paynter, Javon King, Peter Murphy, Graeme Isaako, John OHara (he is theatre in Australia), Elliot Baker and of course Reuben Kaye himself…not to mention a wonderful band under the leadership of ! Then the following week, I’ll be back with my incredible band the Soul Mates (with a few special extras) singing the songs from the award winning soundtrack of The Rose (and more), exploring the themes of love, loss, addiction, and the often tumultuous lifestyles of some of the worlds most powerful voices - Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Etta James and more powerhouse women who sang the blues and rock n roll. Women who poured their heart, soul, pleasure and pain into every note and every word, and shaped music for generations to follow. I’m so grateful to be able to perform these shows for the audiences in SA. Here’s a bit of Hallelujah from our studio sessions. This song is one I never really connected to until we lost the great Michael Gudinski. There has never been (and probably never will be) anyone as passionate and dedicated to Australian music and Aussie artists as MG. He was a dear friend of the family and my godfather. Anytime I sing Hallelujah, I sing it for him and I get so lost in the song. We sing this one in the Jane Barnes Band shows too. It’s probably become one of my most requested songs at our stripped back shows - if you haven’t been to a sit down show of ours, we love to go on a journey with the audience and take some requests, push ourselves and just be present in the music. We have a few shows coming up - this Friday at and headed down to VIC in early March for and more.

Here’s a bit of “Little Light” from the stripped back studio session we did late last year. This is always one of my favourite songs of ours to sing, I feel so deeply connected to it - if you’ve been to our live shows you may have heard me talk about this one… and I wrote it for when she was a little baby as some words of advice for her to carry through her life, a way for us to remind her that we will always be with her and in her heart. I’m looking forward to playing a few shows with the Soul Mates this week - tomorrow at and Friday at 🎥

I love Thailand - I feel so at home here. So grateful for a lovely, peaceful, delicious break with my family and some dear friends. Homeward bound and ready to get back to work - feeling revived, rested, inspired and very satisfied. So great to connect with Thai family and friends too.

A few weeks ago we decided to get into the studio and record a couple of stripped back performances for socials and maybe even to release as a record in the new year. and I sat in one room and played a bunch of favourites from our live shows that we’ve been doing around the country. Here’s one I’ve been singing for about 16 or so years (since my Dad requested I do it as a part of the Dad n Dave show at the Adelaide cabaret festival in 2009). “In Love We Grow” was originally recorded by the incredible and Rufus and it moves me every time I sing it. It’s so beautiful. If you come along to a show, there’s a good chance we will play this one. Hope you like it! 🎥 💿
