πŸ”Š SUNNY BIN SURGERY AT SYDNEY PARK πŸ”§πŸ—‘οΈ

A bit of emergency speaker surgery today on one of the original Sunny Bins at Sydney Park Kiosk.

After more than 12 years outdoors every single day, the woofer finally needed some attention. Not so much from the rain, sun and general Sydney weather, but from the woofers of Sydney Park repeatedly weeing on the woofer. πŸ•πŸ’¦πŸ”Š

A bit of glue, some patch-up engineering and she lives to boom another day.

At this point this bin should probably be heritage listed. Twelve years surviving rain, hail, heat, parties, park life and industrial quantities of dog wee deserves some kind of protection order.

Drop into Sydney Park Kiosk and pay your respects to one of the longest-serving members of the Sunny Bins fleet.

Built to survive. Repaired to rave. πŸ—‘οΈπŸ”Š

Solar is the future β€” and Solar Citizens are doing the work to make sure everyone can be part of it.

This event tackles a real gap in the system: renters and apartment residents who want cheaper, cleaner energy but are locked out of rooftop solar.

Community solar is a practical solution β€” cutting bills, lowering emissions, and making the energy transition fairer.

Well worth supporting.

πŸš²β˜€οΈ Build in Public – What Do You Reckon?

Just sharing a concept mock-up of the Solar Sound System Trike (Sunny Bins edition) alongside a real-world trike I’m looking at modifying.

This is the idea taking shape:

Base electric trike platform
Rear section converted to house the Sunny Bins speakers or be. seat for 2 extra passengers.
Lightweight solar roof with flexible panels
Solar only trickle-charging the 12V sound system
Main unit sourced internationally and then modified locally

The goal is a modular, rolling sound system β€” from small pop-ups to bigger community activations β€” all powered by people + sun.

Keen to hear what people think at this stage:
πŸ‘‰ Is this the right base vehicle?
πŸ‘‰ Any tips on trike handling / weight distribution?
πŸ‘‰ Solar + battery setup thoughts?

This is very much a build-in-public project, so your ideas can genuinely shape it.

If you’ve already chipped in β€” massive thanks πŸ™Œ
If you’re watching it come together β€” now’s the time to jump in.

Let’s build something real and get it on the streets. β˜€οΈπŸš²πŸ”Š

We talk a lot about the future, renewable energy, active transport, cutting emissions. This p… Peter Strong needs your support for The Sunny Trike Project
