Mary did you know?

I’m starting to feel the Christmas spirit and have been reflecting on the life of Christ. As part of that, I’ve been reading a chapter from the New Testament every day the last month.

I’ve been so enlightened by the lessons that Christ taught, but also by the strength, guidance and stewardship of Mary.

I can’t wait to release my Christmas prints very soon and share an exciting giveaway. Keep your eyes peeled 👀

I’ve had to remind myself of this lately.

How remarkable is it that we are so loved by Heavenly parents, that know us individually and deeply care for our wellbeing.

This can be hard at times to remember when life gets busy and times are tough. I wanted to send a mid-week reminder to you all that:

YOU matter
YOU are loved
YOU are special
YOU are a gift
YOU are uniquely different, and that’s okay

Because at the end of the day, we mean everything to God.

“Protection”

Joseph Smith once said, “I saw an Elder preaching. An angel of God was standing above his head, protecting him, but he did not see it”.

On my mission I encountered a difficult situation along with my companion. Someone was taking advantage of our innocence and put us in an uncomfortable situation. My companion and I were in shock. Then all of a sudden… everything went pitch black.

Our minds could comprehend what was happening but our eyes couldn’t see. To this day, it is one of the biggest miracles I’ve ever experienced.

I reflected on this experience recently and dreamt of this image. It’s taken me a lot of years to really understand what happened that night. I’ve confirmed with that companion time and time again “did you see anything that night?!”, “am I dreaming that it went pitch black”. She always reassures that we were protected that night.

I know that we can’t always be protected against evil or from bad things happening. There are some lessons to be learned from such experiences. However, I do believe that Heavenly Father uses his ministering angels to help protect us and our spirits as much as he can allow (without affecting our free agency).
