‼️TOKSAVE 📢 2023 Open Callout‼️

Kitchen Sink Fest 2023 is on the look out for four acts for our two-week festival at the Flight Path Theatre from 25 Oct - 4 Nov!

HUH?
Sydney’s newest and weirdest theatre festival returns for a second year. For 10 nights, the Flight Path will play host to two contrasting pieces of fresh artistic invention. That means that each act does 5 shows across the fortnight.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Anything, literally anything (except hate speech)! Last year there was ensemble verbatim theatre, epic poetry, a one-womxn rage journey, and a Katy Perry pop odyssey. Each show must be 40 minutes or less and feature minimal set (you’ll be bumping in-and-out every night).

WHAT YOU’LL GET
We are offering the slot and our services as producers. You won’t be out of pocket for venue hire, rehearsal space will be made available, and all profit from the festival will be split between each of the shows and the production team.

INTERESTED?
Then send us an email at [email protected]. Your EOI can be as simple as a couple sentences at the ‘I have an idea in my head phase’ or a full script with cast, creative team, and 17 funding bodies attached. One third of a script? A one page pitch? Your lovely self reading a pitch into a voice message or even on video? No worries! No matter how wild, we welcome all applications in any format with open arms and curious minds. Submissions will close 11:59pm Friday 23rd March.

We strongly encourage theatre practitioners of any race, ethnicity, ability, sexuality, identity or size to apply. If you are a creator, producer, or team of artists who are First Nations, Indigenous, Black/blak, People of Colour, LGBTQIA+, d/Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Blind or Low Vision, and/or Disabled and/or Chronically Ill, Neurodiverse and/or a part of a community not listed here who has been historically excluded from theatre spaces – we would love to see your work!!

This one is an extremely tough one to have to write and to be completely honest, it's taken us days to have to process it. We're sending our deepest of condolences to the family and close friends of our brother Cleal Austrai-Ombiga who has tragically left us. Cleal was such a joy to be around and lit up every room he entered. His love for people and community was always felt in everything that he did and his dance moves were unmatched. He was truly one of a kind. Please send your prayers, thoughts and wrap your love around his family, especially his children. Rest well with the Ancestors, till we meet again brother 🧡

Here's a throwback to the last time we had a creative development for the stage play 'I am Kegu' in Cairns 2018. We were fortunate enough to get a wonderful and talented bunch of creatives for one week of unpacking ideas, characters, scenes, set, music and more.

We're beyond excited to step back into the room next Saturarday for a day of creative development on the play.

** We are still on the look out for PNG men for the next Saturday, if you are interested and fit the brief (20-40 years old, fluent tokpisin speaker and reader and based in Brisbane), please email [email protected].
