Bette Davis: Janina Hamerlok (Pixa Pixa Pixa)
Janina is no stranger to the Sydney theatre scene, having been involved with many companies, in many capacities over many years! She is delighted and proud to note that ‘Bette & Joan’ marks her 5th onstage venture with D2 Productions - previously appearing in ‘Bombshells’, ‘Letters Out Loud’, ‘Page to Stage’ & ‘Letters Out Loud 2 (EVEN LOUDER)’.
With extensive experience both onstage and off, Janina has worked as performer, director, choreographer, costume coordinator, stage manager, lighting operator, wigs mistress, front of house, bar steward and…..the list goes on!
When asked about why she enjoys working with D2 productions, Janina said: ‘Being involved with D2 is always such a privilege. With the material constantly challenging, ‘Da Boys’ are always encouraging and supportive, and the end result always proves to be a completely joyful experience for performers and audience alike. The fact that we also help raise money for Dementia Australia just gives me another significant reason to say YES to another exciting production’.
Janina added: ‘The fact that these iconic women were also real life people adds another wonderful layer to the challenge. I’m genuinely excited to attempt to bring Bette Davis to life in all her sassy sarcastic star excellence’.
