My glorious goofball kid is about to turn eight on the weekend.. How did that happen???? As I get ready to make his cake this year and celebrate the joy of his existence & how extraordinarily lucky we are to have him in our lives, I have also been reflecting on my caking career!
It all started with his first birthday cake and oh my, have my skill developed quite a bit since then ππ! Iβve actually made so many cakes for him, I canβt post pics of them all, for family parties and school parties but here is a small collection in the lead up to this next one...
Being has been such an incredible part of my life.... Iβve made cakes for so many people, (not just my kids,) year in and year out and I have loved being a small part of so many celebrations but itβs time for a change!
Iβll never stop being the cake lady and there will always be special joy in making cakes for my family and friends, but as my health, my choices & my life have changed in the last few years so has my desire to do different things, to challenge myself in different ways, to make a difference, to give back!
So for now (or technically after this weekend π€ͺ) there will be in our home a lot less cake and although Iβm sad about that, Iβm very excited to invest that same kind of passion, joy, creativity, learning, skill development and support βwith β€οΈβ that Iβve been known for as a cake maker, in my new adventure as a Cambridge consultant!
