Pride is built on stories.
The stories we tell ourselves. The stories we inherit. The stories that help us find our people and understand who we are.
This month, we’re bringing together six LGBTQIA+ storytellers from their 20s through to their 70s+ to share true stories about identity, belonging, resilience, love and living authentically.
💫 Our Storyteller Line-up:
Team 20s: Mimi Hall – Intersex, genderq***r and le***an advocate and activist whose work has helped shape awareness, policy and support for intersex Australians.
Team 30s: Farz Edraki – Iranian-Australian writer, editor and host of SBS’s Q***r Renegades, exploring identity, culture and belonging through storytelling.
Team 40s: Mon Schafter – Walkley Award-winning journalist, ABCQ***r founder and co-host of the Sydney Gay and Le***an Mardi Gras Parade.
Team 50s: Katherine Wolfgramme FRSA – Award-winning trans advocate, consultant and educator who has spent decades championing gender diversity and inclusion.
Team 60s: Jude Cobb – Singer, storyteller, former drag king and filmmaker whose work explores authenticity, neurodivergence and a lifelong journey navigating a complicated relationship with the label “woman”.
Team 70s+: Kate Rowe – Original 78er, le***an feminist, author, Ironman athlete and one of the women whose courage helped shape Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ history.
This event is proudly supported by City of Sydney
Generation Women Australia is also proud to support organisations doing vital work in our communities. For this Pride event, we’re partnering with Minus18 Foundation, Australia’s leading charity supporting LGBTQIA+ young people through education, advocacy and programs that help create safer, more inclusive communities.
Whether you’re LGBTQIA+, an ally, or simply someone who believes everyone deserves to live as their authentic self, we’d love to see you there.
