My secret dreams ….This is why I became an artist

I have always been creative but it wasn’t till much later in life that I felt I needed to do more than create on the side.

I arrived in Sydney after my first degree to work full-time straight out of uni.

Fast forward through a career and kids and I am sitting in the car after a weekly art class and I turned to my friend and said this is it - my youngest is starting high school and its time I followed my dreams of being an artist.

I realised I was missing out on loving myself and when I make art it feels like home.

So I secretly applied to art school and eagerly awaited the news.

I didn’t tell my family as I knew I wasn’t living my true life but I wasn’t ready to tell them.

Art connects with the real me and now I express myself through emotive fibre artworks combining my love of textiles and art.

Art that touches the soul.

“Art lets me say things I can’t say out loud.”
My artwork is shaped by personal experience and reflection.

As a sensitive woman, mother and carer, I explore the layered emotional landscape of contemporary life — quiet tension alongside tenderness, resilience, joy and renewal.

Through the repetition of words, motifs and symbols, I create visual reminders for women to rediscover and reclaim themselves.

* The canary — your inner voice, your true desires.

* The feather — the gentle release that comes from following them.

* The empty birdcage — freedom from old constraints.

* Text and abstracted script — affirming self-talk, like I Am Enough.

As our roles and circumstances shift, we’re invited to turn inward — to find deeper connection and self-acceptance.

My artworks offer space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with your dreams.

For collectors: If this resonates with your own journey — or the journey of someone you love — I invite you to view available works via the link in bio or message me directly to acquire a piece.

Let the artwork you live with reflect the woman you are becoming.

‘Chapter VII When You Come Home Dear Audrey’
Own a Piece of Art that speaks to the Soul
This artwork is a reflection on freedom, self discovery and the stories that shape us.
Part of my Un/Tethering collection, this artwork explores the delicate balance between connection & independence, drawing on literary & symbolic elements to create a deeply evocative piece.
This artwork is named after the beautiful young girl Audrey who posed for the portrait. A muse and a motif in my art.
Young & joyful, the world full of possibilities and she hasn’t yet be told to be anyone but herself.
She is comfortable and at home being truly herself. Self love, joy and fun come naturally.
My art practice is inspired by my lived experience - I explore my life as a woman, mother, carer & artist.
This artwork is ready to hang and elevate your space.
