Last night, team Nothing Cool had the great pleasure of playing Elude 's new game Magician's Lair! 🪄

This room was incredibly fun! We honestly lost count on exactly how many puzzles were in this room, it was never ending in a great way - it's a puzzle lover's dream!

Please do yourself a favour and book a room (or two or three?!) at Elude, they aren't the closest in travel to us but they are definitely worth the drive out.

Thank you to Darren and Julia for hosting, you were both lovely to chat to, especially after the MANY memorable moments that happened during our play-through.

For those curious, Nothing Cool comprises of The Cool Space and nothing puzzles

For those who don't know, Josh (The Cool Space, 3rd from left) helped Nick (nothing puzzles, 1st on left) on a Kickstarter project back in 2025 for a trilogy of mechanical 3D-printed puzzles. Check them out on his page and give him a follow!

The mastermind behind it all was Nick, his puzzle boxes were originally just given to TCS to play-test and Josh couldn't resist after playing the set that he volunteered to help assemble the first batch of 99 box sets. Nick and Josh have since become great friends beyond the Kickstarter. Nick now helps with 3D prints for TCS and soon... some construction for our new room.

The long awaited Best of Morty 2025 awards were announced this morning and we are pleased to say both our rooms; Seance and Sweethearts Ice Cream Parlour, were awarded 🔮🍦

Morty has grown incredibly amongst escape room enthusiasts over the last year and we're eternally grateful for a platform that helps enthusiasts find immersive experiences they know other enthusiasts love.

We just played a bunch of games and wanna showcase how much fun we had. Here's an escape room dump to catch you all up on some incredible games!

(1/7) 🗿 We had the privilege of playtesting 's new game: The Hidden Temple! and must we say, this is their best room yet!

This room is a work of art to look at, the team at Narrow have nailed the Aztec theme and have littered the room with many iconic pop culture references for the inner nerds out there (we loved finding them all!)

The room is filled with so many fun puzzles and really cool moments that had us just stand back in awe for. The Hidden Temple opens this Friday! This room was a delight, thank you so much for inviting us Shelly, Craig and Kit!

(2-5/7) 👻 While in Penrith, we visited our friends over at Penrith to play all their games there:

🚔 Prison Island was so much fun, this is a challenge room done right! We had a blast going thru rooms that tested us physically and mentally. There were games that were genuinely like solving puzzles and ones that were just plain old fun. Definitely pair this up if you're ever at Scram Penrith for their escape rooms. Speaking of...

🧙‍♂️🐀🥩 We played all three of the escape rooms at Scram Penrith, and they have to be among our favourites of the Scram offerings (which are all amazing) These rooms had expansive sets that have many surprises filled throughout. For those brave enough, we loved the scares in Plagued and The Butcher, Scram never disappoint with a scary room.

(6-7/7) 🏚️🐈‍⬛ After the incredible success of their first game Mrs Claws, we were eagerly awaiting 's Cabin Cult and it did not disappoint. With a background in building haunts, we knew we were in for a spooky treat mixed with the classic Strange World humour. If joining a cult was as fun as this room then sign us up. Thank you Will and Tanner for having us!

A huge congratulations to and our Sydney-based friends, and for all of their well-deserving games that are also finalists, and all the nominees across Australia too.

This room needs no introduction because it's probably already on your wish list to play, but if it's not, add it right now!!

We had the privilege of playtesting 's new game Metamorphosis, and all we can say is "wow! they've done it again". This game has an immense amount of love put into it and you can feel it in every step of the room.

Without spoiling anything, they've done things we've never seen in escape rooms before and more surprisingly, things we never would have imagined would come from The Cipher Room, they've surprised us once again 🤯 and speaking of surprises, there are plenty!

Metamorphosis opens this Thursday, November 6th and we can't wait for everyone to play it because we want people we can talk to about it!

A long overdue update on Daniel and I's (Josh) escape room count! We have finally hit over 200 escape rooms played! Here are the highlights:

🏔️(2/9) was our 200th room played! We knew going into this that it was going to be a one-of-a-kind experience and so we strategically timed it to be both our 200th room. This room was epic! Thank you Steven for your time and the behind-the-scenes tour.

👻(3/9) 's Carnivorous was our 201st room we played. This one was insane!! One of the scariest rooms we've ever played and wow, was it worth it. HIGHLY recommend checking it out if you can brave it. There's a reason this room has so much praise.

🐙(4/9) was our actual 200th room played. (originally in our room count we included our own games). This escape room is run by one of the most passionate escape owners we've met, Thank you Andrew for being an incredible host and the chats. We even managed to tie the room record!

🌕(5-6/9) We were beyond excited to play 's Mad Monster when it was first announced. We are good friends with Brett (owner of Lost Locks) and may have had a very very small part in influencing this room's creation, by no means do we take credit for it tho. If you liked our seated room Seance, you will love Mad Monster. This is one of our favourites!

🐉(7/9) 's Flaming pearl has to be one of the best rooms in the Gold Coast. The pure amount of puzzles in this room is crazy, and for the two of us we love puzzles, this was a dream.

🔒(8/9) were incredibly kind to us and we cannot go without saying a HUGE thank you to Emily and the team of GMs who scheduled us in for basically every game into ONE DAY! We ended up playing 10 Padlockd rooms and 4 others to fit 14 in one day. This is a big reason we managed to hit 200 this year!

🧩(9/9) Thank you to for your incredible hospitality. We played all 3 rooms they had there and are excited for more to open. Thank you for a great end to our GC trip.

Thank you for taking us through all of your incredible games! and a special thanks to David for being our incredible host.

After working on Sweethearts for over a year, we thought it was about time we had a break. Urban Mysteries Co. is sadly closing down soon which gave us all more of a reason to travel all the way out to see them after hearing many incredible things.

All three rooms they have are packed full of story and puzzles that will have you working down to the last couple seconds. If you find yourself in Adelaide before August 16, please do yourself a favour and check out these rooms before they're gone.

A bitter sweet way to experience playing these games, we hope this isn't the last time we'll get to see Urban Mysteries Co. 💙

A long awaited update.

Thank you for your excitement about our new room. We've gotten plenty of messages about when it's coming out and while we don't always have an answer, the fact that people are excited for it, is great!

Sweethearts has been so fun to build and design, but it's also something we've never done before. With Seance, we built and designed the room, completing the project in about 3 months, and so with our second room, we were optimistic.

Originally we told customers Sweethearts would open in Winter 2024, later turned Christmas 2024 and the last update from us, end of January 2025. As you can tell, we aren't the best at timelines...

For transparency, we had originally hoped for a January release because we had planned an overseas trip to the Philippines in early Feb! This was booked long before construction of Sweethearts had even begun.

The irony is, by the time Sweethearts was getting to a stage where it was nearly ready for testing, so was the trip. This meant we would only be around for the first week of its release before our good friend Sam took over TCS!

While we originally planned for Sam to run Sweethearts when we were gone, we quickly pivoted to training him on Seance.

With a room so new and not yet properly tested, we knew things would break, puzzles would be more difficult than we planned and since we were overseas, none of these things could be updated promptly.

For this reason, we decided to postpone the opening til our return and since making that decision, we took that time to upgrade Seance for Sam, before we left.

We've since returned from that trip and are right back to work, but rather than to continuing the crunch in trying to get Sweethearts open, we've decided to take things just one notch slower so that overall, things will be better for when we do open.

TLDR:

We were on a trip, the new room is on its way, thank you for being excited about it, we won't say when it'll open because we would hate to miss another deadline. Here's a photo of one of the puzzles we're excited for you to solve in the new room, along with some photos from the rooms we played in the Philippines.
