We would like to be able to fly her to Vegas to be inducted into the Burlesque Hall of Fame in America. Inspired by America's Burlesque Hall of Fame Legends night I've decided to host an event honoring our legends and pioneers. The event follows a time line through the history of our burlesque including footage and recreations. In 1843 a burlesque performer raised her skirts to the mining towns of
Victoria, they showered the performer with gold nuggets. Abe Saffron had some of the most notorious strip clubs in the world and the performers are still alive to tell their tales. When Elizabeth Burton performed for the troops in Vietnam, they stopped the war until she was finished. The eighties and nineties saw the evolution of what was once the most hardcore performance niche on the planet- in Sydney…
These and many other incredible stories will unfold as Australia’s Queen of Burlesque, Imogen Kelly, takes you on a trip through time to unearth Australia’s secret history of burlesque legends.
