Tara Mcintosh:
The work started during my residency in Paris, ‘Someday (we will)’, archives my experience of solitude through place, material, and process. The linen bears the memory of an angle grinder engraving and burn marks, while fragments of paintings made during the residency became imprinted on its surface as the piece of linen was originally placed beneath active paintings in the studio, and then later reworked back in Australia. Now the peace of London is celebrated in a suspended float mount frame, the Work appears both held and exposed, preserving traces of making in the tactile memory.
