Bugs About Bugs About is a travelling interactive education program for all ages. We are available for incursions, parties, and community events in and around Sydney.

Bugs About provides an interactive hands on experience for people of all ages. Our experienced bug educators come to you to entertain and inform. Noticed a few more moths around the past few days? You are not alone. There is reports all over Sydney and beyond of the increase in moths particularly the bogon moths. For the past several years their numbers have been in noticeable decline so the huge numbers the past few days is a wonderful sight. Let them be as they are a valuable food source to the critically endangered mountain Pygmy possum.

The sudden and unusually large aggregation of Bogong moths on the NSW South Coast represents a notable and potentially rare ecological event. Bogong moths (Agrotis infusa) undertake long-distance seasonal migrations, with major populations traditionally associated with aestivation sites in the Australian Alps. An exceptional coastal occurrence may provide valuable insight into regional migration patterns, weather-driven dispersal and population dynamics. Such events are scientifically significant because they can reveal how environmental conditions influence the movement and distribution of this ecologically important migratory species.

20 years ago the world lost a legend.

I remember leaving work that afternoon when I worked in childcare. It was all over the radio. I was thinking to myself no, they have the wrong person. Then I got a few phone calls from upset friends as well. He was gone.

Steve did things differently, he showed animals to the world and brought attention to their plight. Watching Steve and his passion is one of the driving forced of my passion for animals and conservation. Particularly for those that some think are unlovable.

Thank you Steve for all you did and taught us.
