Did I pause when you tugged my sleeve—or did I say “just a sec” and never circle back?

Did I listen when you told me your dream—or did I nod while my mind wandered?

Because now the toys are scattered, the dishes are still in the sink, and you’re fast asleep.

And I’m sitting here in the quiet, replaying the day… wondering if you felt my love.

The squeeze of your hand. The blanket tucked under your chin. The sparkle in my eyes when I looked at you.

Did I love you enough today?

I pray I did.

one second she’s a ballerina
the next she’s a dinosaur.

twirling through the living room
then stomping through it five minutes later.

one minute she’s soft little bows
tiny toes
and spinning in circles.

the next?

she’s roaring
climbing everything in sight
jumping off furniture
and acting like fear never found her.

she’s grace and chaos.
sparkles and wild energy.
big feelings
messy curls
and enough personality
to keep me on my toes all day long.

because toddler girls?

they’re not always quiet and sugar sweet.

sometimes they’re loud
fearless
a little feral
and pure magic
all wrapped up in a tutu.

It’s rare to hear about our 9 year olds—so let’s honor them as we head into summer. ☀️

Because 9 is that in-between age—where your child is almost a tween,but still holds tight to pieces of childhood.

9 is ending the school year feeling so grown,yet still crawling into your bed after a bad dream.

9 is wanting independence one minute and needing reassurance the next.

9 is pool days, scraped knees, friendship drama,late sunsets, and emotions that suddenly feel so much bigger.

9 is hearing them talk like a teenager in one breath,then watching them play make-believe the next.

9 is stronger opinions,deeper conversations,and realizing your child is becoming their own person.

9 is watching them help a younger sibling with so much patience—and then having a melt down five minutes later because they’re overtired.

9 is between little kid and big kid, and somehow both at the exact same time.

9 is kind.
9 is funny.
9 is thoughtful.
9 is growing.

This summer,I’m soaking in this in-between age—the magic, the change, the becoming.

Because 9 is a blessing.

And while they’re growing faster than I’m ready for, I’m grateful I still get this version of them for one more summer. 💫

How important it is to be that one person☀️🌸🩷

When I started high school a couple of the girls from primary school were really awful to me. They didn't want to be my friends. And they didnt want me to make other friends.

I remember sitting in class next to a girl I didn't know. These two girls from primary school were sitting behind us, making fun of me, and then they tapped her on the shoulder and said:

'Don't be friends with her. She gets her period.'

Even now I feel like my heart stops. Can you imagine?

I remember just sitting there like a statue, blood pounding in my head, feeling shamed and alone.

And the girl I was sitting next to turned to them and said:

'So what? So does my sister.'

I will never forget that moment, nor will I forget the beautiful Alison Street who stood up to them for a girl she didn't even know.

Standing up to mean girls, to bullies - it doesn't have to be a big battle. You just need one person and they just have to tell the bullies that what they're saying doesn't matter. To show them that they're not as great as they think they are.

Even better - how fabulous that we can be that one person for others, and we can teach our kids this.

Sometimes this pops into my head for no reason, like now as I'm working on my group trips. And I think of Ali Street and how she was my one person that day and how much it meant to me.

And I think of how important it is that we teach our kids to be that one person.

It can be that simple. And it makes a world of difference.

Flamingos are born bright pink.
But when they have babies, something incredible happens.

To feed their chicks, they produce a special milk rich in nutrients — and in the process, their vibrant pink feathers slowly fade to pale or almost white.

For a while, it looks like they’ve lost their color.

But they haven’t.

They’ve simply given it to their babies.

And when their chicks grow strong and independent, the mothers slowly regain their pink again.

Motherhood has a way of doing the same to us.

Sometimes we feel like we’ve lost pieces of ourselves — our time, our energy, even the colors that once made us feel like us.

But the truth is, we didn’t lose them.

We were just pouring them into the little lives we’re raising.

And one day, slowly, gently…

One day you’ll look at your daughter…

and suddenly see yourself.

Not the younger version you remember.

But the parts of you that quietly shaped her.

The way she laughs.
The way she cares about people.
The way she stands up for what’s right.

You’ll notice she says things you used to say.

She makes the same little expressions.

And in that moment you realize something beautiful about motherhood…

Your daughter didn’t just grow up beside you.

She grew up **watching you.**

Watching how you handled hard days.
Watching how you loved your family.
Watching how you kept going even when life was overwhelming.

And somehow…

without even realizing it…

you became the example she carries into the world.

One day she’ll build her own life.

But a piece of you will always walk with her.

Because a daughter may grow up…

but a mother’s love quietly becomes part of who she is forever. ❤️

In honor of International Women’s Day, this is for our daughters.
Because love is a daughter.

Love is the fear of something happening to her. It’s hearing scary things on the news, and your mind placing your girl there, and your heart can’t take it.

Love is hearing a boom and running like a streak of lightning because you think she got hurt.

Love is missing her when she’s not with you. It’s feeling incomplete until she’s home from school or a dance class.

Love is waking up in the middle of the night to feed her when she’s a baby and then to comfort her screams when she's older and has a nightmare.

Love is snuggling in bed with her each night, even though you swore last night would be the last time you’d let her sleep in your room.

Love is her being able to tell you anything, and you'll love her unconditionally through it.

Love is accepting her for who she is.

Love is melting every time you get a hug and “I love you," no matter her age.

It’s true love.
A forever love.
Love is a daughter.

Girls don’t stop needing their moms.
They just start needing them differently.

One day she won’t reach for your hand
in the parking lot.

But she’ll still glance back
to see if you’re watching.

She won’t tell you every detail
about her friendships.

But she’ll still want you
to understand her.

She’ll act independent.
Confident.
Like she’s got it all figured out.

But somewhere inside that growing heart
is the same little girl
who once thought you could fix anything.

Raising a daughter is quiet like that.

You spend years teaching her
to be strong.

And then one day you realize
she learned it
by watching you.

So if she still sits close,
still asks your opinion,
still calls your name from the other room…

Answer.

Because even when she stands taller,
walks into rooms without you,
and builds a life of her own—

she will always carry
the way you loved her
somewhere inside her heart. 💕

You’ll never regret getting involved in your kids’ school.

And it doesn’t have to be more than you can handle.

Maybe it’s a note to the teacher who stayed late to help your child sound out those stubborn sight words.

Maybe it’s dropping off a delivery of tissues and sanitizing wipes because it’s sick season and the classroom supply is dangerously low.

Maybe it’s sitting in a folding chair at a PTA meeting, half-listening while you answer work emails, but showing up anyway.

Maybe it’s serving on the school board because you care deeply about what kind of place your kids are growing up in.

Whatever it looks like—it matters.

Your child will remember scanning the crowd and spotting your face.
They’ll remember you knowing their teacher’s name.
They’ll remember that school didn’t feel like a separate world from home; it felt connected.

You’ll remember it too.

And it will always be worth it.

My little mama’s girl…

she holds onto me in a way that feels like love wrapped in tiny hands.

She follows me everywhere, like she’s afraid to miss even one moment by my side.

If I sit, she curls into my lap without a word.
If I stand, she reaches for my hand like it’s the only one she trusts.

Sometimes she doesn’t need anything at all…she just wants me.

My voice, my warmth, my presence.
And there’s something so tender about that… knowing that right now, in her small world, I’m her comfort.

I’m her safe place.
I’m the one she runs to when she’s tired, overwhelmed, or simply wants to feel loved.

I know these days won’t last forever.
One day she’ll grow into her own life, her own confidence, her own independence.

But today?
Today she chooses me.
Today she melts into my arms like that’s where she belongs.

And I’m holding onto these moments with everything in me. ✨🥹💕🎀
