[UPDATE]: 👮‍♂ī¸A driver has been charged, after allegedly attempting to attack police with a knife after a police pursuit in .

ℹī¸ Around 2:20pm yesterday, Fairfield Police were on patrol in the Mount Pritchard area, when they attempted to stop a VW hatchback for a breath test on Meadows rd.

When the driver failed to stop, police initiated a pursuit, following the car through several streets in Mount Pritchard. The pursuit continued until the car stopped on Meadows rd, where police forced entry into the car to arrest the driver.

đŸ”Ē During the arrest, the driver allegedly attempted to attack the officers with a large knife, however police were able to secure the weapon and arrest the man.

One officer suffered minor injuries during the arrest.

The 35yr old driver was charged with:
â€Ŗ Police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly
â€Ŗ Use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention
â€Ŗ Assault person with intent to resist/prevent apprehension
â€Ŗ Custody of knife in public place
â€Ŗ Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (motor vehicle)
â€Ŗ Possess prohibited drug

👨‍⚖ī¸ Bail was refused.

The road was closed in one direction near the Cabramatta rd lights and traffic was seen banked up to Elizabeth Drive at one point.

[đŸ“ĸ PSA]: Do you recognise this man? Police would like to speak to him in regards to a robbery at yesterday.

ℹī¸ Emergency services were called out to Ware st, Fairfield yesterday, after reports of an assault and robbery around 11:45am.

Police were told that a 77yr old woman had taken money from an ATM and was then allegedly assaulted and her bag containing a sum of money, was taken from her.

🚑 Paramedics treated the woman for head and leg injuries, before taking her to hospital in a stable condition.

Police released CCTV images of a man they believe can assist with their investigation.

He's described as of Asian appearance, medium build, dyed blonde hair, wearing large reading glasses, a dark hoodie, shorts and bright yellow socks.

👮‍♂ī¸ The teenage dirt bike rider tackled by a police officer on the Hume Highway in last night has been charged.

ℹī¸ Bankstown Police were patrolling the Hume Highway, Villawood, last night, when they saw a youth riding on his rear wheel and standing on the tail of his bike and weaving through traffic. Police checks revealed that the bike was unregistered.

When the riders stopped at the intersection of Hume Highway and Villawood rd (Meccano Set), one of the police officers jumped out of the car and attempted to arrest the rider before he could escape.

Seeing the officer behind him, the teen accelerated harshly, but the officer was able to grab onto him before he took off. The teen rode through the red light, dragging the officer around 20m, before falling off the bike.

Neither police nor the rider was injured.

👮‍♂ī¸ The 17yr old boy was arrested and charged with:
â€Ŗ Driver manner dangerous
â€Ŗ Negligent driving
â€Ŗ Custody of a knife, and
â€Ŗ Resist police

👨‍⚖ī¸ Conditional bail was granted until his appearance in Children's Court in July.

👮‍♂ī¸ Policeman catches a ride with one unlucky dirt bike rider in !

ℹī¸ Two dirt bikes were seen pulling up to the front of the right turn lane on the Hume Highway in Villawood. There they sat revving their engines, not knowing that a policeman was running up to them between the cars.

At the last moment, one rider happens to turn his head and sees the policeman and they both take off, running the red light, through a very busy Meccano Set intersection.

Unfortunately for one of the riders, the policeman jumps on him and goes for a little ride as he dangerously races through the middle of the intersection. The police officer is able to bring him down and hold him as another officer runs up, in which they make the arrest.

Fortunately they weren't hit by passing cars in the struggle.

Guess karma was calling and unfortunately for this kid, a policeman was on the other end of the line.

[UPDATE]: ✅ Part of the road has been re-opened, but we've been told there's still a lot of traffic leading back to Elizabeth Drive.

Use an alternate road if you can.

🚨 Police incident West.

ℹī¸ Police have blocked off part of Meadows rd between Cabramatta rd & Pritchard st (Mounties side).

Around 5 police cars are on-site and we were told there were 1 or 2 people in custody.

A silver VW was seen stopped with its doors open between the police cars.

Traffic banking up on Meadows rd (heading words Cabramatta rd) and police were diverting cars onto Pritchard st.

ℹī¸ Fire + Rescue have blocked off Hill st, between McBurney rd and Hughes st, Cabramatta.

🚑 Ambulance officers, Police and Fire + Rescue are on-site.

We don't have any further details at the moment, but we'll update if we hear any further.

đŸĨŗ Grand opening celebration today at Snow & Steam .

If you were out in Cabramatta today, you would've heard the drums, as the Yun Yee Tong lion dance team came down to celebrate at the Snow & Steam grand opening.

Snow & Steam specialise in pan fried dumplings and bingsu desserts, food truck style.

📸 If you missed the performance, we've got some photos for you, thanks to our favourite lion chaser.

They'll be open until 10pm tonight and open on the public holiday tomorrow, so pop by and check them out! We heard the chicken and mushroom dumplings are delicious, so make sure you give that a try!
