Ash Cup - Pipes & Drums - Competition Now in it's 12th year, the Ash Cup will again be contested following the conclusion of the Bundanoon Highland Gathering 02 April, 2022

Basically it has been going for about 12 years and started with a couple of pipers having bit of a musical โ€œduelโ€ after the festivities of the Bundanoon Highland gathering had finished, over a few beers at the Bundanoon Club. May be won by soloists or a selection of multiple players (pipes & drums)
Every contestant has a nip of scotch (supplied) before starting and it is judged on (3) x equally w

eight criteria of:
Entertainment Value
Originality &
Technical Ability

Prizes this year are will be for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places.

Highlights of last nights annual Ash Cup Kitchen Piper completion. Special thanks to our major sponsor The Bundanoon Club. A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
THIS MORNING AN INSPECTION WAS UNDERTAKEN OF THE BUNDANOON OVAL AND PRECINCTS WITH A WINGECARRIBEE COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE. THE GROUND HAS BEEN VERY BADLY AFFECTED BY THE PAST AND PRESENT ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO THE EXTENT THAT IT WAS FELT THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE HAD NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO POSTPONE BRIGADOON AGAIN.
THE COMMITTEE ARE DEEPLY CONSCIOUS OF THEIR DUTY OF CARE TO THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLBEING OF EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS BRIGADOON.
WE ALSO HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CARE AND PRESERVATION OF THE OVAL AND THE PRECINCTS, AND WITH THE PRESENT GROUND CONDITIONS THE POSSIBLE DAMAGE CAUSED COULD MAKE THE AREA TOTALLY UNMANAGEABLE FOR SOME CONSIDERABLE TIME. THIS IS SOMETHING WE ARE NOT PREPARED TO CONDONE.
WE APOLOGISE FOR THE LATE NOTIFICATION BUT THE WEATHER BEAT US
BRIGADOON WILL RISE AGAIN, AND THE COMMITTEE IS LOOKING AT A NEW DATE LATER IN THE YEAR.
