It is currently being held at the Arts and Cultural centre belonging to the Pan Archaian Association at 180 Unwins Bridge Rd St Peters. The original Boite scene in Greece was a place where people would gather and even sit on cushions on the floor and listen to mainly softer and more intimate music than that of the Club or Taverna scene. Many songs were love songs but also anti-war demonstration so

ngs, songs of social consciousness and poetry put to music. The lyrics are paramount. We are starting music and poetry evenings beginning with the original BOITE music of Greece in the 60's and also we hope to recreate that energy so that we can present original material from local artists, musicians and poets. This event venue for those interested in serious music, rather than Taverna style. Poetry put to music will be presented by professional performers and their friends. We welcome all World musicians and poets to take part and present a performance in any language. As long as we have some explanation of the lyrics or poems we are happy to be inclusive. At the moment we are renovating the premises at St Peters for use by La Boite, the Greek Jam nd Greek fringe and other groups but in the meantime, we continue to hold evenings in other premises unless restricted due to Covid. Many of those about to perform have performed in the original BOITE, the brainchild of Peter Carantinos, in the late 1970's. Our logo was the original artwork by Takis Constantopedos of the original Boite Committee. Our new logo (the guitar) was created by artist Petros Hovaghimian. Years later in the late 90's THE PLAY SPACE Boite was created and later The Play Space was brought to life again in the 2010 by Eleni Elefterias. Now it is time again to bring this beautiful music and concept back to life as only we know how to do it. La Boite Performance Space Welcome, This page is set up for the performances at our venue. Από τη συνέντευξη της Μαρίας Φαραντούρη στο Protagon.gr (official) και τον Αργύρη Παπαστάθη, που μιλάει μεταξύ άλλων για τον Μίκη, το Μάνο και την επερχόμενη συνεργασία της στο Ηρώδειο με τη Λένα Πλατώνος στις 19 Ιουνίου:

«—Πολλοί άνθρωποι λένε ότι η Μαρία Φαραντούρη είναι ένα κεφάλαιο εθνικό…

‘Αυτό που είναι εθνική υπόθεση είναι το τραγούδι μας, οι σημαντικοί δημιουργοί. Εγώ είμαι ερμηνεύτρια. Και είμαι πολύ τυχερή, γιατί βρέθηκα σε αυτή τη συγκυρία την τρομακτική. Το υπηρέτησα όλο αυτό αλλά δεν μπορώ να το κουβαλάω στον ώμο μου. Εκείνο που θα ήθελα είναι στο μέλλον όλα αυτά να επανεμφανιστούν, όπως συνέβη με το ρεμπέτικο τραγούδι. Θέλω ο νέος που σήμερα ακούει ραπ ή τραπ, στα τριάντα του, να καθίσει και να ακούσει το ρεμπέτικο. Εκεί, μπορεί να ακούσει και τον Μάνο και τον Μίκη. Ο Μάνος, ο Μίκης είχανε τη φαντασία, το όνειρο. Και φτιάχνανε τόσο απρόσμενα πράγματα, τόσο ωραίες μελωδίες μαζί με την ποίηση.’»
