is officially underway, bringing together Australian and UK screen leaders to explore new opportunities for collaboration.

Hosted by Ausfilm and Screen Australia, the evening was a fantastic start to a week of conversations and connections with friends and colleagues from across the UK.

Special thanks to the Australian High Commission in the United Kingdom and Deputy High Commissioner Elisabeth Bowes for having us at the glorious Australia House, BFI Chair Jay Hunt and our partners at the BFI, Film London and Pact for their invaluable support.

XM2 TAKES APEX TO THE TOP ⛰️

Prior to production, XM2 CINE were capturing raw landscapes that would help flesh out the world of Netflix's Apex.

Stationed in NZ, the Australian team deployed custom aerial systems, LiDAR scanning and a bespoke three-camera RED Komodo array to capture environmental data, VFX plates and sweeping landscape imagery.

MEET TRACKDOWNS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR 🎚️

After more than 35 years under founder Geoff Watson, Trackdown has appointed long-time executive Elaine Beckett as Managing Director.

Starting as an intern in 2004, Beckett's promotion is a long time in the making, now steering one of Australia's most significant audio facilities - home to the South Hemispehere's largest orchestral scoring stage and a long-time collaborator on major local and international productions, with recent credits including Warner Bros.' Mortal Kombat II, Netflix's War Machine, Sony Pictures' GOAT, and 20th Century Studios' Send Help.

For Sam Raimi's Send Help from 20th Century Studios, Fin Design + Effects helped bring the film's most perilous scenes to the screen - from a devastating plane crash, and a violent ocean sequence to the island vistas that define the film's isolated setting.

Seamlessly blending Sydney wave-pool photography with CG environments to craft large-scale destruction simulations, the team's work made the world feel expansive, dangerous and just the right amount of unhinged.
