Genesian Theatre Theatre Address: 2B Gordon Street (next to Sydney Community College) The Genesian Theatre Company celebrates our 79th year as a company in 2023.

One of Sydneys longest running community theatre groups in a beautiful brand new venue in Rozelle, offering high quality live theatre productions at affordable prices! For 69 years we have been operating from our home at 420 Kent St, an historic church that has a long tradition as a theatre in the heart of the Sydney C*D. We boast among our alumni numerous household names in Australian theatre and film such as Bryan Brown, Baz Luhrmann, Judi Farr, and John Bell. We're thrilled that some of our more recent cast members such as Rowan Witt, Lib Campbell, Aaron Glenane, and Bianca Bradey have gone on to carve out their own space in the industry in the past few years. We are also just as proud of the hundreds of other talented actors, directors, stage managers, set and costume designers, lighting and sound specialists, stage and production staff who have contributed to Sydney's unique little theatre. We are particularly proud of all our members who volunteer their time to work Front of House to help you enjoy your visit to the Genesian Theatre. Over the years the company has developed into a theatre providing a training ground for young theatre professionals and a place where those who love the theatre can meet, share, and extend their knowledge of the performing arts. The Genesian Theatre Company is one of Sydney's most active theatre companies. In addition to six main stage productions each year we run classes, workshops, and many other activities. Membership of the company is open to all people over the age of eighteen. The building which houses the Genesian Theatre Company was originally St John's Church, and dates from 1868. It served as both a church and a poor school until 1932 when it became the Kursaal Theatre, housing the Sydney Repertory Company. In 1938 it became the first Matthew Talbot Hostel. Since 1954 it has been the home of the Genesian Theatre Company which was formed in 1944. The Genesian Theatre Company acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of the land our theatre stands on.

๐€๐ฅ๐ž๐ฑ๐š๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ is a Sydney-based actor and graduate of JMC Academy, where he completed an Associate Degree in Acting.

His stage credits include Jaime in Anthem (2022), Leontes in A Winterโ€™s Tale (2023), Pugachov in The Su***de (2024), and Bobby in Friend Request (2026).

Alexander began his theatre studies at the University of Sydney in 2021 before moving to JMC Academy to pursue a more practical, performance-focused course of training.

Since graduating, he has continued to develop his professional acting career and is represented by Harbour Street Management.

This is Alex's debut with the Genesian Theatre Company.

๐ƒ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ซ๐ข has been working extensively in Sydney theatre for nearly two decades. He has performed in numerous productions for the Genesian Theatre including the role of Victor Frankenstein in Frankenstein (2014), Jonathon Harker in Dracula (2015), and as Mr. Elton in Emma (2016). His most recent performance as Banquo in Macbeth (2025) was well received by critics and audiences alike.

He has also written two plays, Errors (2012), and Haus (2013, 2014) which were very successful and staged at the Tap Gallery in Darlinghurst.

Melissa Cremascoli), The Bear (dir. SariE Hickey), Emerge (dir. Danny Ball), Sergeant Snow White (dir. Ian Maxwell), Cymbeline (dir. Sean Oโ€™Riordan), and Spring Awakening (dir. Deborah Jones).
Beyond the stage, Gabriel is also a singer-songwriter and occasional playwright.
His debut EP, Drowned in Light (2026), produced by Leon Berger, attracted international acclaim, receiving praise from Brazilโ€™s Roadie Music, Argentinaโ€™s Aqui Mรบsica, Mexican journalist Oliver Zurita of Expansion Radial, and a full EP review from Mexicoโ€™s Lacaverna.net.

Captain Corelliโ€™s Mandolin marks Gabrielโ€™s second production with the Genesian Theatre Company, having previously appeared as the Doctor in the 2025 production of The Lady Vanishes.
