Another full-size snooker table completed today, recovered in PNS S147 cloth. But today’s job wasn’t just about recovering a table. It was also a reminder of how far our team has come.

As our workload continues to grow, we’ve recognised the importance of investing in the future of our industry and developing the next generation of table fitters.

Over the past couple of years we’ve spent countless hours training, practising and learning. We’ve had a dedicated practice table set up in our workshop, worked on different cloths, different table styles and different installation methods, all with the goal of continually improving our skills and workmanship.

As a result, we’re excited to be expanding our team.

Finding good people is never easy, but we’re committed to building a team that takes pride in their work and shares the same passion for billiards, snooker and pool that we do.

Every table we work on is an opportunity to learn, improve and raise the standard even further.

The future is looking bright, and we’re excited about what comes next.

This outdoor pool table owner had been searching for someone to replace the cloth for quite some time. Several installers had inspected the table, realised the complexity involved, and ultimately decided not to take the job on.

Outdoor pool tables are a different method altogether. The materials, construction methods and exposure to the elements mean they often require a completely different approach compared to a traditional indoor table.

We knew we could help.

The original cloth had reached the end of its life, and today we completed a full re-cloth, bringing the table back to life and ready for many more years of use.

The first Mirage Outdoor Pool Table installation is complete.

This project has been over a year in the making.

From the beginning, we weren’t interested in bringing in just another outdoor pool table. We wanted to create the outdoor table we felt was missing from the Australian market.

Several prototypes were designed, built, tested and refined throughout the development process.

The result is the Mirage.

A table designed to look right at home in a premium outdoor entertaining area, while delivering tournament-quality performance for players who expect more than a hobby table.

Seeing the first Mirage installed in its new home is a proud moment for our team and marks the beginning of what we believe will become one of the standout outdoor pool tables available in Australia.

Thank you to our customer for placing their trust in us and being the first to own a Mirage.

We can’t wait to see many more installed around the country.

The Walter Lindrum Australian Open Billiards has concluded for another year, and Australia has once again been fortunate to host two of the world’s very best billiards players, Peter Gilchrist and Rob Hall.

Not only are they among the finest cueists in the world, they are also outstanding ambassadors for English billiards. Their willingness to support world ranking events in Australia is something our billiards community greatly appreciates.

Australia has a proud and rich history in billiards. From Walter Lindrum through to the modern era, our country has consistently produced world-class players and continues to play an important role in the game internationally. Events such as the Walter Lindrum Australian Open help ensure that tradition remains strong.

Congratulations to Peter Gilchrist on claiming the Walter Lindrum Australian Open title. Peter’s record in the sport speaks for itself, and it was another impressive performance this week.

A special congratulations must also go to Australia’s Michael Pearson, who earlier today defeated Rob Hall to secure the runner-up position. To reach the final of a world ranking event against a field of this calibre is an outstanding achievement and one Australian billiards should be extremely proud of. It was a close contest in the final with Peter winning 899 to 709. An incredible result!

The action doesn’t stop there. Next week Rob Hall will be making his way to Sydney to conduct an elite junior clinic and a billiards exhibition. We are looking forward to welcoming him and giving Australian players the opportunity to learn from one of the world’s best.

Meanwhile, Michael’s attention now turns to the Australian National Billiards Championship, which begins tomorrow. We wish him every success and look forward to following his progress.

Well done to all players, officials, volunteers and supporters who continue to keep billiards thriving in Australia.

One of the shops most frequent visitors is Levi Coe. It doesn’t matter that he lives around 90 minutes away, if there’s a chance to spend some time around cue sports, there’s a good chance Levi will be there. .

This Saturday was no exception, with Levi dropping in again and bringing his mate Harvey along for the trip.

After spending a few hours on the table Levi settled on a new 1066 Billiards Royal FS cue while Harvey chose a 1066 Billiards Duke.

Photos like this are what it’s all about. Two mates, plenty of enthusiasm for the game, and the excitement of walking out with a cue that feels just right.

Thanks again for making the trip up guys. We appreciate the support and look forward to seeing how both of you get on with the new cues.

Yesterday we completed the installation of a 1066 Billiards Hastings full-size snooker table at Club9.

When we first started The Snooker Shop, projects like this were something we hoped might happen one day. To now see one of our championship-level tables installed in one of Sydney’s premier cue sports venues is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Club9 has created a fantastic facility. Whether you’re into pool, snooker, darts or simply catching up with friends, it’s a venue that genuinely has something for everyone. The atmosphere, presentation and commitment to cue sports make it a place we always enjoy visiting.

One of the things we’re most excited about is seeing the table used for coaching and player development. With Greg Jenkins already offering coaching programs at the venue, players can now receive dedicated snooker coaching on a full-size competition-standard table, helping introduce more people to the game and supporting those looking to improve.

The table features steel block cushions, PNS Billiard Cloth S147 cloth, a choice of Dynaspheres Phantom or Aramith 1G balls and will soon have table heating installed, creating a setup capable of hosting serious practice, coaching and competition.

A big thank you to Greg Jenkins and the Club9 team for giving us the opportunity to be part of the project, and to Mick Boyne for his expert installation work.

We’re looking forward to seeing plenty of centuries, maximum attempts and memorable matches played on it in the years ahead.

You might wonder if we ever stop.

The answer is… not really 😎

When cue sports is your passion, it never quite feels like work.

Tonight we’ve just finished installing this Taylor Dining Pool Table in Natural finish, paired with upgraded PNS Championship American cloth.

The customer first saw this model in our showroom and knew straight away it was the one they wanted. Seeing a table in person makes all the difference, and we think this combination of Natural timber and Grey cloth looks right at home in its new surroundings.

Now it’s back to the shop to load up for something a little special tomorrow.

Sometimes you know straight away.

Today Imogen came into The Snooker Shop with her family looking for a new cue. At nine years old, we naturally pointed her towards our 48” junior beginner cues, thinking that would be the right place to start.

Mark asked her to play a simple straight shot into the middle pocket.

I was busy with my back turned when I heard it.

If you’ve spent enough time around cue sports, you know that sound. The clean crack of a cue ball struck properly.

I turned around and looked at Mark. He looked back at me.

“Can you play that shot again?”

She got down on the shot and did exactly the same thing. Dead straight into the middle pocket. A perfect stun shot. No side. No wobble. Just cue ball control that you don’t normally see from a nine-year-old.

I asked how old she was.

“Nine.”

My response was simple.

“She’s too good for that cue.”

Instead of the beginner junior cue, we started looking through the MYCUE Junior range to find something that would allow her game to keep developing.

This is exactly why we offer an upgraded range of junior cues from 48” through to 54”. These aren’t just beginner cues. They’re designed for young players who are serious about improving and are suitable right through to National Junior Champion level.

It’s always exciting to see young players coming through the sport, but every now and then you see someone who immediately makes you stop and take notice.

The future of cue sports in Australia depends on juniors being given the right opportunities, encouragement and equipment to enjoy the game and continue improving. Seeing young players like Imogen walk through our doors is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

We have a feeling this won’t be the last time we hear her name.

A big milestone for The Snooker Shop this week.

We have just completed our first commercial cloth installation project, recovering all three full-size snooker tables at Castle Hill RSL.

The tables are now back open and available for members and visitors to enjoy.

Over the past 12 months we have spent countless hours learning, practising and refining our installation techniques. We made the decision not to offer commercial installations until we were confident we could deliver a standard that clubs and players would be happy with. Seeing these tables completed and back in play makes all that effort worthwhile.

This project was completed using PNS cloth and is the first of several commercial installations we now have booked as more clubs make the switch.

A huge thank you to Castle Hill RSL for placing their trust in us.

After more than a year of development, the Mirage 8ft Outdoor Pool Table has finally arrived and is now on display in our showroom.

From the beginning, the goal wasn’t to create just another outdoor pool table. We wanted to create the outdoor table we felt was missing from the Australian market.

Several prototypes were designed, built, tested and refined throughout the process. One of the biggest challenges was developing a true 8ft slate table that could be supported by just four legs. This allows the Mirage to work perfectly with bench seating and optional dining tops, making it equally suited to entertaining, dining and serious play.

The result is a table that looks right at home beside a pool, outdoor kitchen or entertaining area, while delivering the performance of a genuine slate pool table.

Featuring a commercial-grade aluminium frame, 3-piece slate bed and tournament-quality playing characteristics, the Mirage is a table that serious players will appreciate just as much as those looking for a centrepiece for their outdoor space.

Available in both White and Black frame options, optional matching bench seating and dining top. The Mirage also comes with a custom made weatherproof cover.

We’re incredibly proud of how this project has turned out and look forward to seeing the first customer installations in the coming months.
