It’s quiet as the evening settles in around me.
But the darkness… it hasn’t really left me in a while.
Life has always pushed me to grow, to fight, to rise every time I’ve been knocked down.
And I always did.
No matter how hard it got… I got back up.
Not this time.
This time, when I hit rock bottom… I stayed there.
I fought it like I always do.
Clawed, pushed, burned with everything I had.
But something was different.
I didn’t rise.
I sank.
Deeper than I ever have before.
Everything unraveled at once.
My relationship.
My career.
My confidence.
Gone.
I thought I knew pain.
Thought I understood what it meant to lose.
I didn’t.
Not like this.
This kind of hurt… it brought me to my knees and kept me there.
No fight left.
No fire.
Just emptiness.
You’ve read my words before.
The strength.
The courage.
The rising against all odds.
This time… I had nothing.
Everywhere I looked, all I could see was darkness.
No answers.
No direction.
Just pain… and silence.
And alone in that place… I felt something I hadn’t before.
Hopelessness.
And that’s a dangerous place to be.
Because before, the world knocked me down.
People.
Circumstances.
Life.
This time…
It was me.
My choices.
My emotions.
My own unraveling.
And I didn’t know how to fight myself.
So I cried.
Not the kind of tears that inspire stories.
The kind that break you.
The kind that leave you lost.
I hit a low I didn’t know existed.
Lower than anything I had survived before.
And in that silence… something shifted.
I realized I had been looking in all the wrong places.
I lost my perspective.
Lost my truth.
Somewhere along the way… I forgot who I was.
And how I got here.
The change didn’t come all at once.
It never does.
But slowly…
Quietly…
The light started to find me again.
And I understood something I had forgotten.
Healing doesn’t come from outside.
It starts within.
With honesty.
With truth.
With facing yourself without excuses.
No more telling myself what I want to hear.
Only what’s real.
I don’t have it all figured out.
And maybe I never will.
But I’m moving again.
Forward.
One step at a time.
I’m turning the page.
Starting over.
Writing a new chapter.
With one simple truth…
I can...and I will.
