Present to Past
Currently Doni coaches two Junior Flight Club sessions at iFly Downunder and has a particular passion for encouraging the kids to continue with their progression. She coaches an array of different students at varying levels and ages outside of JFC. Her background in dance/ dance teaching is an asset to her overall coaching success. Many positions and movements in the tunnel can be broken down and related back to alignments taught through dance and similar movement forms. Ample understanding of the body and its nuances gives Doni numerous was of explaining how to successfully fly a certain position. And allows her to adapt to each students individual needs. As well as this patience from a coach is vital and this is one of Doni’s focuses. Frustration is a massive barrier for someone wanting to progress in the sport of indoor skydiving so keeping g it fun is key.

Doni lead a successful career in dance and dance teaching. She began her tunnel journey in 2017 while on contract with Royal Caribbean, onboard Quantum of the Seas. She trained basic skills in the tunnel while continuing to perform on the ships dance shows. She flew on and off for around a year, then decided it was time for a career change. For the lifestyle, the people and the passion.
She committed to her progression in the tunnel when becoming an instructor at iFly Downunder (Penrith) in March 2018. An early achievement was successfully obtaining a Guinness World Record for the most split spins in one minute in the tunnel. After this particular effort was put in to freestyle and dynamic genres. Doni competed for the first time at the Aussie Open 2019, and can’t wait to continue competing and making her way to the forefront of the sport.
