Hola from Valencia!

We left the beautiful resort at Torrox Costa to go up the mountain and visit Cómpeta for an informal sing with two local choirs - Coro de Cómpeta who are mostly all European expats, and Coro Rosiero Almijara who are Spanish. We sang for each other and shared songs inside a restaurant, then had tapas lunch with everybody, the singing continuing over lunch and much chatting going on in both Spanish and English. We hugged them all as we had to leave, as if we’d been friends forever.

Then we drove to Malaga and had a very late flight to here in Valencia for more adventures.

A stunning day off from singing.

Hola from Torrox Costa, Malaga, Spain! 🍹🍹☀️

We had a day off from singing today and what a stunning day it turned out to be.

We stopped at a town called Nerja where most of our group went to explore the caves.

The rest of us explored the town and wound up getting stuck in the carpark because of the annual town parade for Nerja Feria. What a sight!!

Then off to Torrox Costa, a beachside town in Malaga where we’re staying in a proper beautiful beachside resort. We had the whole afternoon and evening free and I attach some pics of that so you can see what some of us got up to.

The only sad part is that Torrox Costa is one night only, we’re off travelling again tomorrow and have a lot more fun singing to do.

Hola from Granada Spain! This is our third and final day in Granada, and Granada finally got to hear us sing.

We spent the morning rehearsing our Romancero Gitano with local guitarist José Luis Morillas - he was wonderful!! - and immediately found ourselves getting emotional as we were singing about the local area, about the places we’d visited.

And then to finally perform Romancero to a Granada audience was such a special moment for us. We performed it at the Basilica de San Juan de Dios - a church even more opulent than the one at Sevilla.

It was a moment we will never forget.

Hola! We’re still in Granada, Spain and it’s a lovely cooler day today.

In the morning we did a three-hour walking tour of the Alhambra, with a wonderful guide who gave us mountains of information about the gardens, the architecture and history.

After a free afternoon we all went to see a flamenco show in the caves. The feet! The clapping!, the guitar, singing, dresses, castanets and the intensity were incredible. Olé!!

Big singing day tomorrow, can’t wait!

And today, Wednesday, our very comfortable coach drove us all the way to Granada, with a long stop halfway at Cordoba for the tour of the Mezquita-Catedral de Cordoba. We were so excited to see the Guadalquivir river as we sing about it on this tour.

On Tuesday night we had our second concert of the tour, in the Soledad de San Bonaventura which was the *most* exquisite venue we have ever performed in.

Oh, and the audience gave us not one, but two standing ovations!

Tuesday was our first day in Spain and we were quite busy with excursions, firstly a flamenco workshop where Marilyn was in her element 💃💃💃, followed by a tour of the cathedral.

Hola from Granada España!

It’s been a busy couple of days so a few adventures to catch you up on.
Monday was our last day in beautiful Portugal and we spent it in Porto, before flying to Sevilla that evening.
