The ARTIST BLACKSMITHS ASSOCIATION NSW (ABANSW) Artist Blacksmiths NSW are demonstrating at the NSW Cutlers Expo in August, and we invite you to come and join us, check out the forging of steel with fire, hammer and anvil.

Experience the ancient art of blacksmithing (smithing), a continuous active part of human culture since the BC years, continued into the modern day by blacksmiths (smiths) keeping the amazing art of smithing alive.
The NSW Artist Blacksmiths will be demonstrating all weekend in the outdoor demo area.
Watch the smith heat steel to 1100c, hold it with their tongs, than forge it to shape with hammer over their anvil, slowly but surely making their envisioned piece.
The smiths love to explain what they do and how they achieve their final piece, please ask questions and take it all in, ask about the blacksmithing classes they do, you never know, you could enjoy doing it yourself and keeping this craft alive.
Pick up a hand forged piece for Dad for Fathers Day, which is the following weekend.
Then venture into the indoors expo and marvel over the knives, axes and other edged tools that have been forged by heat and hammer by Australia’s world class bladesmiths, and hopefully take home an heirloom piece that’s been built with passion home with you.
