"All you do is play with children that must be such an easy job.", once a friend commented when I told him I am an educator.
Sadly, the so-called "easy job" has caused thousands of educators to burn out. I bet I could fill three pages with the day to day duties of educators on any given day.
Lack of professional recognition, low pay and mountains of paperwork has been cited as the primary reasons for educators leaving in droves.
According to the National Skills Commission, “there were record 6236 vacancies in early childhood education across Australia as of March 2022."
I took on a 6-week FFWD HUB entrepreneurship program by Study NSW to see if I could design a solution to the problem.
(I have always believed that if I am not working actively toward solving a problem, I am part of the problem. And the best way to know if you can do it or not is to try.)
After the brutal 6 weeks of the course and based on my assignments every week, I was selected as one of the finalists for the FFWD STARTUP PITCH FEST.
I am working to create a well-being platform for early childhood professionals.
