Pigeon progress update 🪡
The green and purple neck sections are finally coming together and I’m happy with how it’s looking already.
It was such a nice day outside, so I attempted to channel “pigeon sitting in a tree” look. 🤭🌿

I learnt something pretty crazy about pigeons while researching fun facts. Pigeons make milk! It’s quite rare among birds. There are only three birds that produce milk - pigeons, flamingos and male emperor penguins.

Progress update on my pigeon embroidery design.
Currently working on the green iridescent section around the neck. Trying to capture that beautiful colour shift pigeons have in the light.
I finally found the perfect use for these green beads I’ve been hoarding for ages 😝 they were made for this design.

Pigeons were once used to deliver messages over long distances because of their incredible homing ability - some could find their way home from hundreds of kilometres away. 💚💜

Meet my newest embroidery design: a pigeon 💜💚✨
I like the way their feathers catch the light with flashes of iridescent purple and green.

Fun fact: pigeons can recognise themselves in mirrors and even remember human faces… so be nice to your local feathered critics 🐦

There’s nothing quite like the sound of kookaburras laughing through the trees.🐦✨ Their calls echo across the bush like nature’s own soundtrack - wild, joyful and a little bit mischievous.

These iconic birds aren’t just known for their laughter; they’re skilled hunters, loyal family members and a beautiful reminder of the magic in everyday moments outdoors.

If you love kookaburras as much as I do, I’ve created this kookaburra embroidery pattern inspired by their charm and character 🪡💛

Eastern Spinebills use their long, curved beaks to sip nectar from flowers like grevilleas and banksias, playing an important role as pollinators in Australian ecosystems.

This design is perfect for anyone who enjoys stitching birds and botanicals. Slow down, thread your needle, and watch this tiny nectar-lover come to life.
