🌟✨ What an incredible evening at the SA Environment Awards last night! 🎉🏆 Being recognized for innovation among so many dedicated and passionate conservationalists was truly an honour. Our commitment to innovative approaches in conservation is stronger than ever, and this recognition fuels our drive to keep pushing boundaries for a more sustainable future.

A highlight was the inspiring speech on “The Hidden Life of Trees" by Susan Close, Deputy Premier of South Australia; Minister for Climate, Environment and Water; Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science. She eloquently described how trees share information and nutrients, drawing a beautiful parallel to how the conservation community works together. 🌳🌿

It was fantastic to meet other innovators in conservation, like creators of 'Herding Caterpillars,’ using augmented reality to make a difference. Reconnecting with SAGE (SA Grassroots Eco-system) was also a highlight, reminding us of the powerful network we're part of. 🌏💚

Huge congratulations to all winners and finalists – together, we are making a difference for our planet! 🌏💚

Thanks to all who make these awards possible: Conservation Council SA, Green Adelaide, Government of South Australia Department of Environment and Water, University of Adelaide Environment Institute, and Adelaide Cemeteries. 🌿🌿

Flinders University student pairs up with DunnART! Sarah Mundy is studying Bachelor of Science in Animal Behaviour and says, 'I am loving working with Dunnart Productions helping them develop new things with what I have learnt through my education! It has been amazing learning about the lesser-known Aussie mammals and helping others learn how amazing they are!'

Sarah's favourite Australian animal is a Port Jackson Shark! She shares, 'I love all sharks overall but these guys stick out to me as they are just so cute! A fun fact about me is that during one of my university lab practicals a Port Jackson Shark had a little nibble on me! We sorted it out though and we are now the best of friends.'

Aww animals can be our best friends, including sharks!

Final year Flinders University student in Bachelor of Science (Animal Behaviour), Eleanor McCann is teaming up DunnART's internship program! Eleanor says, 'My favourite DunnART feature is their drive to highlight lesser-known endangered Australian species that kids might never have seen before!'

She brings a host of life expereince with previously completed double degree in Law and Behavioural Science (Psychology), five years of office life, and even time as a dog trainer!

Eleanor's favourite Australian animal is the platypus. Her reasons: 'It is cute to look at but it’s also a great hunter. It can detect its small prey in cloudy water using electrolocation, similar to a hammerhead shark!'

🌿🌸 Happy Marsupial Mother's Day! 🌸🌿

Let's celebrate the incredible mums of the marsupial world – from devoted Bettongs to resilient Dunnarts and all the amazing marsupial mamas in between!
Appreciate the strength, dedication, and tenderness of marsupial mums and all other mothers everywhere.
Just like human mums, marsupial mothers go above and beyond with remarkable resilience to nurture and protect their young. Whether it's carrying their tiny joeys in pouches or creating cozy nests for their babies, their love knows no bounds.🐾💕
