Nearly 10 hours of work and this piece is finished, although I cannot be truly certain as I lost track of time... but this piece has taught me the art of patience because good things take time.
Titled "Diamond", this new work was designed to accompany my poem by the same name. I hope you like it as I do.

It's never too late
To decide who you want to be
To be that person
That is true to yourself.
It may take some time
To discover your path
We change as we grow
As life teaches us.
The values we adopt
Transform with the years
Experience is an eye-opener
For those who wish to see.
We can hide ourselves
In ignorance or pride
Daring not to look deep
At the person in the mirror.
We can cover ourselves
With lies we turn to truth
But eventually we learn
Through shock or grace.
To be brave enough
To look within ourselves
Is a journey worthwhile
To conquer our demons.
Embracing the shadows
Of our very souls
Enables the light to shine
Even through the storms.
While life tries and tests us
Our refinement occurs
Like a diamond under pressure
Emerging beautiful and bright.
