Freshflix began with a group of mates who wanted to show their work off to each other in a backyard.
That backyard now extends to all of the world.
Hailed as Australia's own Festival de 'C'arn!', Freshflix Film Festival brings together local and international indie talent at unique locations around Sydney, Australia and beyond.
From our humble beginnings in a mate's backyard on the clifftop overlooking Freshwater Beach (photos above), we've grown to become a seasonal highlight in the Sydney film, art and music scene.
Our past events have set the tone with a blazing sunsets, live music and art and a heck of a cinematic experience... One set on a clifftop amidst the distant roar of crashing waves, another two warehouse parties with a Japanese food truck and banging great inner city vibes, a banquet feast followed by a film party in a craft brewery, a night in the oldest theatre in San Francisco and our most recent in Los Angeles at the historic Raleigh Studios!
After six burning hot seasons, Freshflix is once again teaming up with Vivid Sydney to present the 2018 season of stunning short films in conjunction with the Freshflix Emerging Filmmaker Conference. The upcoming Freshflix will see the brightest shining new talents of Australian and international independent film taking on the silver screen on the top floor of the Museum of Contemporary Art with insane views overlooking Sydney's Circular Quay on the first Saturday night of Vivid! By golly, there will be a sensational time had by all.
