Our special dancing folders! 💜

Each Minnie has their own special dance folder, complete with pictures to help reinforce the fundamental steps and concepts we’re learning in class.

These visual resources give our little dancers another way to connect with their learning, helping them recognise movements, build confidence and remember important dance foundations in a fun and age‑appropriate way.

Children learn in many different ways, and having a picture to refer to helps make new skills feel familiar, achievable and exciting.
It’s just one of the many ways we make learning engaging, meaningful and memorable for our Minnie’s. 💜🦄

After a busy class filled with dancing, learning and movement, taking a few moments to slow down and relax helps our Minnies transition calmly from activity back to rest.

Quiet time encourages children to regulate their bodies, practise listening and mindfulness, and reflect on everything they’ve learned during class.

It’s also a special moment for our little dancers to feel calm, settled and proud of all they’ve achieved.

This was a beautiful moment in class the other day. Hugs with our dance besties. 🥹

Week after week, we watch our little dancers form beautiful connections with one another. From sharing stories and giggles to encouraging each other and celebrating each other’s achievements, these friendships become such an important part of their dance experience.

Learning how to make friends, take turns, work together and feel part of a group helps children develop confidence, communication skills and a sense of belonging that extends far beyond the studio.

When children feel connected, supported and accepted, they’re more willing to participate, express themselves and try new things.
Because the friendships made in Minnie’s often become just as meaningful as the dancing itself. 💜🦄

Today at the end of class, our Minnie’s explored an obstacle course filled with different props and were encouraged to decide how they wanted to move through it.

Whether they jumped, balanced, crawled or created their own pathway, these open-ended activities help children develop creativity, problem-solving skills, body awareness and confidence in their own abilities.

Giving children opportunities to make choices encourages independence and allows their personalities and imaginations to shine.
Because sometimes the best learning happens when little dancers are free to explore, create and move in their own unique way. 💜🦄

What looks like a simple exercise is actually helping our Minnies build strength, balance and control.

By practising rising onto their toes and lowering with control, dancers develop foot and ankle strength, body awareness and the stability needed for strong ballet foundations.

These skills support correct technique, improve balance and help our little dancers move with confidence as they grow.

At DPA, we know that strong technique starts with the basics - and every rise and lower is helping our Minnie’s become stronger dancers. 💜🦄

Rainy skies one minute, dancing butterflies the next.
