Well folks I am overwhelmed with such love from you all …… here’s the update
On Friday 3 weeks ago I was washing my dog in the bath with plug in , water still running, when I stood up quickly and my feet were taken out from under me….
My darling husband Wayne , was coming home from his cancer treatment and walked up the 36 stairs to find me submerged in the bath head first with the water still running and our dog Arlo drowning in the bath , Wayne pulled me out I was blue, he worked on bringing me around and then performed CPR on me till the ambulance, Police and Fire brigade arrived as they needed to take me down the 36 stairs.
I was rushed to St. Vincent’s hospital where they resuscitated me again before going to Prince of Wales hospital. I was operated on for a burst aneurysm. They then did a brain scan where I was found to have a mirror aneurysm and operated on again. The next 3 weeks I have been in ICU and finally I think I may be out of the woods. All this time while my husband is in the middle of Prostate Cancer treatment at St Vincent’s for 31 days we were given notice to leave our beautiful home for no reason in Watsons Bay where we had lived for 16 years. This week my husband moves into an Airbnb for 3 weeks till we find out my rehab with moving forward. I guess I just couldn’t take anymore. I am so lucky to be alive and thank the stars that my husband had not read my message I had text him 10 mins prior to my fall in the bath to pick up some milk and bread across the road. It was the 5 year anniversary of my Mothers death and she was there all the time obviously telling me it was not my time to cross over. I am forever grateful for my loving husband not picking up the bread and milk as if he had , I would not be here to tell my story. I’ve seen the most amazing ing brightly coloured pictures on the wall and ceiling, pretty happy to stay on the drugs, I told the Doctors, as my next book will be called Pieces of Picasso.
I already have a creative team in mind to help me write the musical….well I’m not sure about that… but the book definitely.
Everyone needs a back story as they say and this is a red carpet one.
As Wayne said you didn’t need to be so dramatic to get out of moving!!
I’d like to thank my loving husband, my daughter Elle May Baker and Jack Harris Auctioneer for being there holding on to the hope I would survive.
I Am left with a damaged left eye that may come good in time but the Doctors don’t really know, but as Elle said I can organise an eye patch for you, maybe of “Two Little Kiwi Birds” Les and Beryl!!
All Wayne has said is that I didn’t need to exit in such a dramatic way and I’d do anything to get out of moving house!
I never could have written a script as good as this but as reality TV shows say, everyone needs a back story!!
Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at The Prince of Wales Hospital, you are nothing but Angel’s, so loving and caring.
