Escaping worn torn Vietnam as a refugee, Eric Em discovered gratitude isn't just saying thanks-it's recognizing how strangers choosing hope over fear transforms lives. After a treacherous boat voyage, pirate attacks and refugee camp, his family found community in Australia. Kind people who saw potential, not burden. Through life challenges, Eric learned deep gratitude means asking: "Who can I help today?" Now he inspires others to build bridges, understanding that gratitude transforms recipients into givers, creating belonging.

Leon used to wear the right mask for every room. Leader. Joker. Officer. Mate. It worked, until life cracked it open. During his separation, he realised he didn't know which version of me my kids needed, and I felt like I had failed them. That moment started something. It was the beginning of my real leadership journey. Not of leading others, but of finally learning how to lead myself and lead others.

I am very excited to announce that on 16 November 6 fabulous storytellers in the Northern Rivers will be sharing their stories all about GRATITUDE.

Our storytellers, Tegan Mel, Eric Em, Alex Transcend, Tamy Taylor, Bella Petrova and Phil Hedges will be sharing their raw and personal stories linked to GRATITUDE in all its shapes and forms.

Afterwards, Kurek couldn’t stop wondering why he survived. Hil life went into a dark, self-destructive tailspin…until he awoke with a new thought, what he calls the gift.

When Linda's seven-month-old baby stopped breathing during cancer treatment, trauma hijacked her brain's reasoning centres. Standing in a hospital break room, she could identify coffee, sugar, cups, and milk, but couldn't put it together. This moment of cognitive shutdown became a crossroads from knowing nothing about trauma to dedicating her life to healing it, transforming personal devastation into professional purpose as a trauma therapist.
