CHOOKAS 🥰

To the wonderful New Ghosts Theatre Company team and their show:

Frame Narrative by Emily Sheehan
Old Fitz Theatre
8 - 30 March

“You want a monster? I’ll show you a monster…”

A revered filmmaker is doing the festival circuit for her latest cinematic adaptation of a literary classic; Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. Meanwhile, rumors about the treatment of the actors on set reveals tension between the film’s two leading ladies; a faded 90s horror scream queen and the Gen-Z it girl of psychological thrillers.

Lucy Clements directs Emily Sheehan’s new gothic thriller, that traces the evolution of gothic literature to trashy horror, and asks whether you can ever truly separate a work of fiction from its author.

AND THAT'S A WRAP 🥲

Directed by the incomparable Julia Billington who led this production with such heart, kindness and grace. To the delightful, passionate and talented Jessica Bell, Deborah Jones, Alexandra Keddie, Katherine Hopwood Poulsen, Fiona Press and Monique Salle as the cast. To Hannah Yardley, Saint Clair and Clare Hennessy who created the beautiful, eery yet warm world of this play. To Jessica Twells for leading the production throughout the season and for your bravery, initiative and gentleness. We were blessed to work with each and every one of you!

Thank you to the Old Fitz Theatre for being SO amazing throughout the whole production, leading with care and support. We can't wait to continue this relationship into the future! We felt the theatre became an intergenerational meeting place for LGBTQIA+ folks during Mardi Gras season and we are so happy this production spoke to and touched so many of you - we will miss the audible gasps and laughter each night.

Until next time... 🌊🌊🌊

SOME TICKETS LEFT FOR TONIGHT!

"Lynn’s script compassionately paints complex and flawed female characters across two different stages of life. These characters express layered experiences of love, joy, betrayal, pain, anxiety, embarrassment, and gracious acceptance – and this cast of actors give every moment its justice." - Vaanie Krishnan, TimeOut
