One of the most valuable things you can teach your child about friendship is to pay attention to how they feel when they are around someone,

because that feeling tells them everything they need to know.

A friendship worth having is one where your child can show up as themselves, say what they actually think, laugh at what genuinely makes them laugh, and feel comfortable without constantly editing who they are to fit in or be accepted.

When children learn to use that as their compass early, they are far less likely to chase approval from people who are not a good fit for them, and far more likely to build relationships that are genuinely fulfilling.

The goal is teaching your child to choose friends who make them feel at home in themselves. ❤️
