🍀 FRIDAY TRAD Fiddle Fest!🎻🎻

Síofra hails from Foxford, Co. Mayo. Coming from a musical family, Síofra has been immersed in traditional Irish Music from a young age. She has toured internationally and been featured numerous times on the Fleadh programme on RTE, Fleadh live, TG4 Geantraí, Comhaltas live, and recorded for Dublin's national traditional music archive.

Siofra is joined by fellow fiddler Aoife Trench.

It’s Fri-yay and that means community, tunes, chats and a cold creamy Guinness.

Tomorrow night, The Gaelic Club will be hosting a special 'Jersey Night' alongside their regular Friday night Trad Sessions.

Led by the fantastic Ferdie Whelan on piano and concertina and the multi-talented Sean Nós dancer Ailbhe Ní Dhabharáin (also on concertina), they invite you to wear your county colours tomorrow night and join in the fun!

They played many sessions together in Galway while Ferdie competed with the Moycullen (Cogar) Ceili Band. Ailbhe has been teaching Sean nos dancing on Wednesday evenings at the Gaelic club!

JACK and MEL go up the Surry HILL!

Jack Conrick is a fiddle and concertina player from Canberra, Australia, who grew up in a musical family with parents who play and teach Irish music. Named after a close family friend and well-loved fiddle player of the Canberra Irish music scene, Jack Canny — brother of the well-known Paddy Canny — Jack began playing at a young age and carries that influence in his music today. He plays regularly at festivals and sessions across the country.

Now residing in County Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, Mel is Western Sydney bred and polished up in Canberra. Mel has been part of the Australian folk scene for decades - and has been playing banjo for just as long.

Expect a welcoming, inclusive session vibe, a groove that gets your feet tapping and harmonies that are easy on the ear.

Join us for an end of week pint, a chat and tunes.

Seán Griffin and Ferdie Whelan

Ferdie is a traditional Irish piano and concertina player from Loughrea, Co Galway. He comes from a musical family and has been immersed in trad music from a young age. He has taught at various workshops and has played at Fleadhs and in sessions across Ireland.

Seán is a whistle player and singer from Ennis Co. Clare. He found a love for Irish traditional music and culture at a very young age in Ennis and Doolin. He plays frequently in sessions all around Ireland and is a regular on the Irish music scene in Sydney.

Stephen Murray (fiddle and vocals) and Stephen Mullarkey (guitar, whistle and vocals, now based in Sydney. Playing a mix of traditional Irish music, dance tunes and well-known songs, they bring the sound and atmosphere of an Irish pub to every performance. Live at the Gaelic Club this Friday.

Hi friends, family, fans and other assorted humans in my world!

I'll be in Avoca Beach, Sydney and Canberra next weekend before heading over to my homelands for a few weeks of gigs, recordings, travel and family!

I'm blessed to perform and gig a lot, with many amazing musician. Music has been my career for many moons (as well as art, writing and parenting of course). But! this will be my first dedicated tour and is my first album of my own music in 14 years (overdue, yes!). I'll perform the album in full with the excellent Tom Botting on guitar. There will be tunes from the bones of my cultural homelands, influenced by the amazing music and artists around the world I'm priveleged to meet, plus some spontaneous improvised moments like this of course.
