Fandata Studio

Fandata Studio FANDATA STUDIO aka Ana Rita Pires & Mito Elias. Another of our major focus is the use of recycled material, the not so "noble" material.

We are both visual artists and community arts practitioners with a vast experience in working with youth and community groups. Our journey started throughout Europe and Cabo Verde - West Africa, and we are now excited to be working here in Australia. Our workshops focus on creating a safe and dynamic space were children and adults can explore various creative paths & outcomes, be exposed to a div

erse range of materials and navegate independently and pressure free through the act of creating. We use these mediuns not only because we believe in their hidden potential but we also want to incentivize peolple to make & create and abolish the notion of expensive material necessarily leading to the "best" or more original outcome. Process is always the way!!!

Thank you to our community for bringing brightness to another workshop in the park. This is yet another pilgrimage of the NOMADIK program to collect graphic elements for the upcoming paste-up, which will be announced soon. A special thanks to our friends from Sunshine Street Band for providing the music and camaraderie during the initial hours of today's workshop. Long live Sunshine!

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Brimbank City Council to bring a series of engaging workshops as part of our Nomadik Program. Fandata Studio, a community-focused and sustainable arts platform based in Sunshine, will host drawing and collage workshops that celebrate sustainability through eco-friendly materials. These workshops will run from April to May and are designed to bring people of all ages together to create meaningful, ephemeral artwork.

Inspired by the theme “The Center of My Hearth”—symbolizing the vibrant and interconnected spirit of our community—the workshops will culminate in a collective body of work. This artwork will be showcased as a temporary paste-up installation on one of Sunshine’s public walls, celebrating our creativity in a way that harmonizes with the evolving nature of urban spaces.

Workshop Details:

Workshop 1
Location: Sunvale Community Park, Sunshine
Date: Saturday, 19th April
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Workshop 2
Location: Buckingham Reserve, Sunshine West
Date: Saturday, 10th May
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Open to all ages and skill levels, these workshops invite everyone—seasoned artists and curious beginners alike—to contribute to this collaborative project. By blending creativity with sustainability, we aim to spark joy and connection while honoring the spirit of our community in a temporary, eco-conscious display.
Join us to add your voice to this unique artistic experience!
We look forward to seeing you there!

Best regards,

Fandata Studio

Our Story

Fandata means to find in Cape Verdean Creole.

FANDATA STUDIO aka Ana Rita Pires & Mito Elias. We are both visual artists and community arts practitioners with a vast experience in working with youth and diverse community groups. Our journey started throughout Europe and Cabo Verde - West Africa, and we are now excited to be working here in Australia. Our workshops focus on creating a safe and dynamic space were children and adults can explore various creative paths & outcomes, be exposed to a diverse range of materials and navegate independently through the act of creating. Another of our major focuses is the use of non traditional materials, the less "noble" ones. We use these mediums not only because we believe in their hidden potential but we also enjoy encouraging people to make & create and abolish the notion of expensive material necessarily leading to the "best" or most original outcome. Process is always the way and this is what we will explore profoundly.

Fandata Studio will be working out of a new space in Sunshine, Melbourne`s West. We will be offering a number of visual arts workshops to children and adults.
