It's interesting the range of art produced from realism to abstract. I believe it's like learning to dance and classical training is the foundation to free expressive dance. From my own experience, in my subtle flesh pink leotard to the opening concert in a red tutu and carefully ribboned shoes, it's not about perfection, but the display of lessons learned, for we never cease learning until we choose to, all preparation for modern free dance. The classical foundations must be learned to express one's own modern free expression. Step by step, we learn to dance to our own rhythm and expression of our passion. There are no mistakes, they are all stepping stones and part of the final piece. In fact, the more mistakes, the greater the beauty. We are all artists in our own right, on our own personal journey and moving at our own pace. No AI 🤖 my thoughts only with a grammar check.

Art School workshop to practice this medium, featuring a range of charcoal materials and their diversity. I have very little experience practicing this skill; in fact, this is my second attempt. I'm delighted by the range of techniques to practice. I look forward to my next piece. This charcoal is drawn freehand, inspired by another artist's work, upsizing the image using the skills I'm learning. Not for sale.

Im delighted to report that I have nearly completed a charcoal piece with soy wash and acetone highlights. I look forward to finalizing this light and dark study in preparation for another vibrant impression dedicated to Nayla's memory.
