Happy Weekend 🌸🌅🫶🏻

This curious fellow is on his way to his new home 🏡 ✨

A few months ago, Matt popped into the Seaview Artists Gallery and took home my little W***y Wagtail. While he was there, he asked if I could create a special Curlew as a gift for his mum.

He had one beautiful request… to include a little spoon memento from Magnetic Island, a place his mum loves to holiday and where they adore watching the Curlews. Luckily I had one in my collection 🫶🏻

And so, this big guy came to life. 🖤

Today he’s making his way to his new home, carrying a little piece of Magnetic Island and a whole lot of love with him. 🌅

A big thank you to Matt for trusting me to create something so personal and meaningful. It’s these stories and connections that make creating commissions so incredibly special.

There really is something magical about these curious birds… 🪶✨

Hope you enjoy🙏🌸🫶🏻

Happy Friday 🌸🌅

I’ve decided I think I may officially be the WORST artist when it comes to taking photos of my work in progress! 🤦‍♀️😂

I get so caught up making, creating, cutting, sanding, grinding and generally making a mess that taking progress photos somehow becomes the last thing on my mind! 🙈

I’ve been super busy behind the scenes working on two commissions and a few exciting sculpture entries… and I can’t wait to share them with you soon! 💗🫶🏻
I’ll be in the gallery tomorrow, so if you’re out and about, pop in and say hello. I’d love to see you! 🌸

Happy weekend everyone! 💗✨

Ps. Here are some really bad snippets 😂

Happy Weekend everyone! 🤍

I’m so excited to share that these little recycled timber hearts are now available at Seaview Artists Gallery. Each one is handcrafted from reclaimed timber, with it’s s own unique grain, knots and character…no two are ever the same. Perfectly imperfect… just like us🌸🫶🏻

Designed to fit gently into the palms of your hands, they are a little reminder to hold onto love, offer comfort, or send a hug when you can’t be there in person. A small keepsake with a big heart.

Whether you’re gifting one to someone special or keeping one close for yourself, I hope these little hearts bring warmth, connection and a gentle reminder that we all need a little love sometimes. 💗

If you’re out and about this weekend, pop into Seaview Artists Gallery and find the heart that’s meant for you.

Have a beautiful weekend!

💗Jodi💗

Happy Open Studios Sunshine Coast Weekend 🫶🏻🌅🏖️ ☔️

It’s a little windy & cold here but the sun is out and the gallery is always warm and full of beautiful creations.
I will be in the gallery tomorrow

🌅Sunday 19th July
⏰10am to 1pm for Open Studios

Drop by and chat all things sentimental sculptures with me 💗… and check out some of my latest pieces.

One of the things I love most about creating commissioned sculptures is that they often begin with nothing more than a beautiful and deeply personal conversation, usually some sentimental pieces, a few measurements and a handful of beautiful ideas scribbled on a piece of paper.

This is where the journey starts…. Sometimes 136cm wide. 172cm high. Centre positioned 60cm from the top. Olive and terracotta tones. Light driftwood. A few simple directives… but endless creative possibilities.
It’s in these moments that I get excited.
Before a single piece of driftwood is selected or reclaimed metal finds its place, my mind starts wandering (at all times of the day & night 🤪).
I begin imagining how each curve of timber, every weathered texture and every carefully chosen element can come together to tell a story that’s completely unique to the space it’s destined for and as unique as the people it will belong to.
The brief gives me direction… but the artwork? Well…It always seems to find its own path… and that there is the beauty in art.
I can’t wait to see where my next commission takes me… but I’ll be sharing a little this Sunday so pop by and say hello 🫶🏻🏖️🌅🌿🤎

A heartfelt thank you to the beautiful, beautiful couple who asked me to create this special piece that I’m talking about for their home.. their second commission piece 💗🩵thank you 🙏

What do you think it will become? 🫶🏻

Happy Friday 🌸🌅

✨ Open Studios Sunshine Coast is almost here, and while I won’t be opening my own studio this year, I’m excited to still be part of the trail from the beautiful Seaview Artists Gallery in Moffat Beach 🏖️ 💗

If you’ve ever wondered how I transform reclaimed timber, rusty metal and treasured keepsakes into sculptures filled with meaning, I’d love for you to join me.

On Sunday 19th July & Friday 24th July, between 10:00am and 1:00pm, I’ll be in gallery to chat about my creative process…from the moment an idea begins, through to selecting reclaimed materials that each have their own history.

I’ll also be talking about one of the most rewarding parts of my practice… creating personalised and sentimental commissions. These pieces often incorporate cherished family heirlooms and meaningful objects, allowing treasured memories and stories to become lasting works of art.

I always love chatting about creativity, answering questions, and sharing the journey behind my sculptures, so please come along and say hello. Whether you’re an art lover, a fellow creative, or simply curious about what goes on behind the scenes, I’d love to meet you.

I’m also looking forward to finally exploring some of my favourite Coastal Trail artists this year, a rare treat when I’m usually busy opening my own workspace!

I hope to see you at Seaview Artists Gallery during Open Studios.

Happy art trailing! 🌸✨

Happy Saturday 🌅🌸

It’s been a little while since my last post…

We’ve just returned from a much-needed holiday spent with some beautiful friends, enjoying a slower pace, stunning sunsets, and a chance to recharge 🌅💛

After a couple of busy weeks settling back into everyday life, I’ve finally made it back into my shed — and it feels so good to be creating again. A few new pieces made their way to the gallery this morning, and I’m now getting ready to start work on some exciting new commissions.

I can’t wait to share these special projects with you once they’re finished.

Wishing everyone a happy and relaxing weekend 🌅✨

Happy weekend 🌅

Meet beautiful Layla 🐈‍⬛🌸💗

I was so excited when Carissa asked me to create a freestanding sculpture of her gorgeous prize-winning Mandalay cat, Layla. This is the very first time I’ve created a freestanding cat sculpture, and what an honour it was to capture her grace, beauty and unique character.

There is something incredibly special about creating a piece inspired by an animal so deeply loved, and I felt very privileged to bring Layla to life through my recycled art.

🌸🙏🌸🙏🌸Thank you so much to Carissa for trusting me with this special commission. I know just how much your beautiful girl means to you, and it was truly an honour to create her.

Happy weekend 🌅

This very special commission has gone to his new home this week 🦋🫶🏻🌸

Greg’s Butterfly 🦋

When I was asked to create this deeply personal piece, the brief was beautifully open, a butterfly in memory of Greg for his wife Margy, using materials from his shed. Nothing was off limits, other than preserving his name on the metal gas canister. Beyond that, I was invited to follow my instinct… and there was so much to work with 🩵

As the piece unfolded, I felt a strong pull to include flowers for Margy. I didn’t question it… I simply followed that feeling. Later, I learned that Greg loved giving her flowers… and in that moment, everything made sense ❤️🫶🏻

This sculpture brings together Greg’s own tools; a spanner, pliers, chain, nuts, washers, and the canister all woven together with a few touches of blue jewellery to form a Blue Morpho butterfly 🦋 A tribute not only to his memory, but to the love he shared with Margy.

I feel incredibly grateful and honoured to have been trusted with something so meaningful, and so happy to have, in a way, given Margy another beautiful bunch of flowers.

Thank you for your trust, Jennifer 🌸🙏

The photos show what materials I was given from Greg’s shed and what they became 🦋 hope you enjoy xx

Three of my pieces are off to their new homes this week… and I couldn’t be happier knowing they’ve found people who truly connect with them ✨
There’s something so special about watching a piece leave the shed or Gallery and begin its next chapter somewhere new.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been quietly working away on two very special commissions… the kind that keep the creative spark glowing late into the day (and sometimes night!).
I can’t wait to share them with you in the coming week 🫶🏻I’m honestly so excited about how they have come together 💫
Stay tuned… there’s more magic on the way 🤍
